Directv/Eugene, Or.
Okay so I live in Eugene and have directv. Last night's game was blocked out on CSN-Ca. Can someone up in Oregon help me understand my options to get the games. Is Eugene no longer a black out area for the A's? If so can I pay for Extra Innings and actually get A's games? Or dod I have to sign up for the package that adds extra sports channels? If there anyone who knows the answers pelase help. I just hope to figure out the answers by Tuesday game, since Monday's will be on ESPN. Thanks!

I think Eugene is in A's territory
Thus, DirecTV’s policy applies:
BLACKOUTS: All local and national blackout restrictions still apply. In other words, subscribers within a club’s Home Television Territory cannot get that clubs’s games in this national package.
There's no crying in baseball!
Yes
Living in Eugene myself, I can tell you that it is indeed in the blackout region. Which, like, totally sucks. Rumor has it you can watch A’s games on MLB.TV by using a proxy server to get around the blackout restriction, but I wouldn’t know anything about that.
I just remembered I love Eric Chavez.
I used to live in Eugene
I was continually amazed that they said I was in the A’s region despite the fact that the Coliseum was a good 9-10 hour drive away….
There's no crying in baseball!
CSN-CA should become a third local sports channel for you
as soon as DirecTV secures the rights to carry the A’s regular-season telecasts, because as gigglingone says Eugene is within the A’s MLB-designated territory. You already get FSN Northwest on 687 and CSN Bay Area on 696. You should be able to watch the games on CSN-CA 698 as part of your basic package once CSN-CA and DirecTV reach an agreement.
If no agreement is reached, all of us who have DirecTV are pretty much screwed. It wouldn’t matter whether you live 5 miles from the Coliseum or 500.
Because of the territorial issue A’s games on Extra Innings would be blacked out for you. The Sports Pack wouldn’t help you either because all pro games are sold through the various league-specific packages (Extra Innings, NHL Center Ice, etc.) and are subject to their blackout restrictions.
Sorry, that might scare some people
Second paragraph should read:
If no agreement is reached, all of us who live within the A’s territory who have DirecTV are pretty much screwed. It wouldn’t matter whether you live 5 miles from the Coliseum or 500.
If you have DirecTV but are outside the A’s territory you’ll get the games on Extra Innings (probably the other team’s telecast though, not the CSN-CA telecast).
Well some good has come from it
Channel 698 (CSNCA) appears to have already migrated to the basic package due to the A’s being on it (even if we can’t actually see them), and the San Jose Earthquakes.
Lookign at the schedule on DTV
It looks like we will get the A’s feed on the games along with the other feed..not just the other team feed.
Bring back Hammer.
Well that's interesting
I hadn’t actually looked at the schedule until you pointed it out. I assumed that if DirecTV didn’t have the rights to show the CSN-CA telecast within the A’s territory they wouldn’t be able to show it as part of their EI package either. I believe that’s why you get only one feed of a Phillies game…don’t think DirecTV has ever acquired rights to the Phillies telecasts, so you only get the other team’s telecast. So perhaps there’s some buried good news there.
So many people from Eugene...
I grew up in eugene, and I was convinced that I was the only A’s fan in the city… Guess I was wrong!
