Bobb for Mayor?
Robert Bobb for Mayor of Oakland?
If this has been posted elsewhere I apologize, but I didn't see it. I think this is the best news we've had in a long time about the chances for the A's to find a new home in Oakland. Bobb was our champion when no one else was, and I will do anything I can to help him get elected. According to the article, he is currently looking for a home in Oakland. There's a really nice house down the street from me that just went up for sale -- now THAT would be grand!

This could be awesome
Maybe a long shot, but wouldn’t it be nice if he was able to win and make something happen?

I think this would be great for Oakland
Bobb was a good city manager, and would give Oakland some decent leadership, which has been sorely lacking with the two previous mayors.
I’d still like to see the A’s in SJ, but if Bobb were able to keep them in Oakland in a stadium that will enable them to compete with the big boys, I’m fine with that too.

I don't know if he's actually expressed the interest
but I do know that people are talking about Bobb as an alternative to Don Perata.
I think he would be a good choice.

Did you read the article?
Perhaps I didn’t do a good job of establishing that the link is to an article from today’s Chron. He has definitely expressed the interest.
Losing this team would be a huge failure for this city and an affront to Oakland’s great sports legacy.

no, I didn't read today's article
I was referring to earlier articles and comments from people in Oakland. If he’s expressing an interest, even better.

When i saw this under recent fanposts,
I read it as Bobby (as in Crosby) for mayor? Needless to say, I was dissapointed when I realized Crosby won’t be seeking a new profession.

Not to worry.
He will be soon enough. I’m thinking by 2011 at the latest.

Would be great for Oakland
Being almost a lifelong resident, and a business owner in Oakland I think it would be the best thing to happen in Oakland politically in decades. I have no confidence in the current Oakland government, and with Perata it would just be more of the same. Bobb can get things done. Please run.

I think he will ...
and I think he’ll win. This is the best (potential) news for the Oakland A’s in a lonnnnnnng time.
I needed a team so I wouldn’t turn into one of the eighty million pink hat-wearing Bud Light-drinking mulleted idiots at Fenway.
