Tall in the saddle — what’s your pleasure?

High chop

Buck hit one of those balls that bounces high off the hard dirt in front of the plate.

Pedroia makes a fine pick in front of second base and relays it quickly to first.

Buck is eyeing the ball but beats the throw to first, according to the umpire.

He actually looked out in real time, but safe in slow motion. It doesn’t matter. Davis, pinch running for Giambi, touches home easily and a second time for good measure.

we should get

jaymee sirus to walk across the parking lot and do the A’s – not in the way doctor K would, but still she loves sports (at least bball) and if she’s any good at baseball she’s approachably cute, smart, and concise, all things you want from a sideliner – besides she’d make everyone on the A’s look tal

btw – thanks for the recap on the end, sounds like the umps wanted to go home, but go A’s, a dubs a dub

ya but did you hear geren

say it was some “tendonosis” or tendonitis or whatever you wanna call it? huh…said hell be out a few days….

The bad thing is that tendonitis technically never goes away does it? so if it flares up it can be a problem of recurring nature

by yawedout21 on Apr 14, 2009 11:54 PM PDT up reply actions

Pretty much, yeah.

Tendinitis just pretty much aches really bad, but I don’t think anybody thought Chavez would play for a week straight anyway.

I didnt

I thought this whole Nomar/Chavez thing would be great with some limited Crosby over at third when necessary if Nomar moved to First

by yawedout21 on Apr 14, 2009 11:56 PM PDT up reply actions

Right. Inevitably there WILL be a few times (more than a few, probably) that both Nomar and Chavy need to sit.

"I’m Joey Devine, I’m what Joba Chamberlain would be if he was good and nobody had ever heard of him."

by mikev on Apr 14, 2009 11:57 PM PDT up reply actions

exactly why

we all must come to grips with seeing Crosby at third…I mean hes kinda learning on the fly…Whole career at short and this season already hes played third second and first…HMM I know its not rocket science but still a lot of footwork to learn…Playing third should be the easiest for him but there are certain types of balls that will take him a while to be fully comfrotable with
