Open Thread: Game 7 - A's vs. Red Sox (cont)
Braden looked awesome through his 6+ innings, surrendering just two runs to the Red Sox offense. Wuertz finished off the seventh, and is fast becoming a bullpen favorite. The A's had one big inning, and a homer from Nomah; they're up 6-2.

with gallagher's stuff, he's all or nothing
when he’s not throwing strikes and his pitches have no movement (like currently), he’s no good to anyone. He needs to go back down to AAA and get in some work

wow....
Gallagher has good stuff, we saw flashes of it last year, but from what I was reading about spring training, nothing was going his way. He couldn’t throw strikes and his pitches were flat. I think, since as you mentioned, he’s not pitching anyway right now, he should go somewhere where he can get some reps in at game situations
So basically you're saying Beane and co made a huge mistake in putting him on the roster?
"We were s--, pathetic," Guillen growled early in spring training. "We hit too many home runs."
by lenscrafters on Apr 13, 2009 10:09 PM PDT up reply actions
not necessarily,
he’s the long reliever on the staff, which is important when you have as much inexperience as we have in our rotation. But I think if you want him to be a starter eventually, you should give him something to work on and let him work. But I’m just a fan, Billy’s the GM. It’s his job to make these decisions, not mine. I’m just making a comment on a fanwebsite, not trying to slander Beane and Co. so i don’t know why you’re taking it so seriously…
I'm not.
Basically I’m just wondering why you believe a guy has no ability to pitch (based on what you “read”) at the moment when by his very inclusion on the roster, management seems to believe otherwise.
