Bobby Crosby traded to Mariners
Bobby Crosby finally traded. Oakland gets 10 big bats in return that should help even more our offense.
While its a division rival we're helping, its still a good trade as I don't think the Mariners will contend this year. Plus the lose of the 10 bats should hurt their already small offense.
According to PECOTA projections this increases our win projection by 2, leaving us at 88, ahead of the Angels.

10 big bats?
That’s where you blew your cover. Although I guess the headline “Crosby traded” should tip anyone off.
dumb, dumb, dumb
Waste of space, and disrespectful to people who have actually set aside time to write a legit fanpost. Flagged (or maybe I’m joking).
Not funny either
John Odom, the guy traded for ten bats, left baseball in disgrace a few weeks later, and wound up dying of a drug overdose in November.
If you’re going to make an April Fools joke, do a little research.
I actually knew about it
I guess the American culture takes deaths from others to seriously… chill out
Clear its radiance shine...
you knew it and still tried to make a joke about it?
it’s just respectful to leave it alone. Just say crosby was traded for a batboy to be named later or a mascot in training. there’s no need for you to bring up a person for 10 bats.
This, I'm sorry
is over-the-top sensitivity.
The bad April Fool’s joke is what’s offensive here.

Yeah
I can accept the joke being bad, but disrespectful? It’s a blog and a small April Fools Joke.

too each his own
making light of a story that led to a drug problem that led to a death 4 months ago? awkward.
maybe if it were funny i’d be okay with it. we’ll never know.
I read the story
And I find that connection dubious, at best.
You don’t develop the kind of severe drug problem and depression that leads to death because of “sucked at baseball” without there being deep, serious issues already in place.
Making light of his death would not, of course, be in any good taste. But that “traded for 10 bats” situation, in isolation, still was, and is, funny.
“Calgary offered a job, but because of a 1999 conviction for aggravated assault when Odom was a minor, he couldn’t get into Canada. On May 20, the team made the famous trade.”
“"He had a musician’s heart, not an athlete’s heart," McLeod said. "He was manic. He’d sometimes come in with dark glasses and you’d know he was in a black mood. But he had so much going for him."”
“By his own account, the 6-foot-2 Odom was a "lost youth" who got tossed off his Roswell, Ga., high school team. A few years later, he showed up in Florida at Tallahassee Community College, a small-school baseball powerhouse.”
It wasn’t the bats that did him in.

It could still happen!

I wouldn't discount the new Mariners management just yet.
The old guys though, yeah sure they’d do it in a heartbeat.
Bobby Crosby traded for package of sanitary socks
Would have been more believable and sensitive
Bob Geren and Ken Macha both enjoy jai lai.
Clearly this article needed this detail:
In his first act since being reinstated as GM today, Bill Bavasi mortgaged the farm to get Bobby Crosby from the A’s

This is a really under-developed and unsatisfactory description of AN.
"To this day and dating back 25 years, before every game he plays, Henderson stands completely naked in front of a full length locker room mirror and says, "Ricky’s the best," for several minutes."

I recall, think it was Ohad, two years ago pulled a good one that took me all the way in.

Thats funny.
I’m late and a soon as I saw this I knew it was a joke of course. I think we could settle for a preschooler or 12 year old prospect. That’s more believable and hilarious.
