Wilson in for the Giants
Petit up to bat. He has doubled and popped out thus far

Running into an unnecessary out is a good way to make the team.

That is quite possibly one of the most pathetic and cringing
things I’ve seen.

No where near as bad as the one on the skateboard who racked his balls on the telephone
pole guy wire. Series of six or more who are soooooooooooooo stupid. Got that email showing how stupid folks can be.

For all you sock lovers
Wimberly wears em high
"Their batters are patient to the point that it's annoying." -Ryan Franklin
Damnit, now I have to root for him even more
"Their batters are patient to the point that it's annoying." -Ryan Franklin
Wimberly proving to be a tough out

Buck K's
Giants coming up, bottom 6
"Their batters are patient to the point that it's annoying." -Ryan Franklin
So what's up with Jemile Weeks?
Is he 100%? I’m guessing he starts in High A.
But it looks like Wimberly is pushing Weeks into the shadows.
Weeks projects to be a better hitter and fielder I believe
"Their batters are patient to the point that it's annoying." -Ryan Franklin
And he might be just as fast. Or close to it.

Weeks can be like his brother, hopefully
While Wimberly is a poor man’s Figgins
"Their batters are patient to the point that it's annoying." -Ryan Franklin
Rickie isn't all that good
Terrible fielder and hasn’t lived up to his hitting potential.
by thejd44 on Mar 5, 2009 1:51 PM PST up reply actions
He had a couple good years
But I agree, he’s not all he can be. Hopefully Jemile can realize that potential.
Rickey wants Rickie to be more like Rickey and less like Rickie
"Their batters are patient to the point that it's annoying." -Ryan Franklin
Weeks has played like a week in the minors
And Wimberly has played well in Spring Training. We must remember… sample sizes.
Weeks has been sick; wimberly is older/more advanced; not pushing him into the shadows

So I guess we're done with free agent signings then
Except for the paperwork in the Nomar and Cabrera deals
So I was listening to the game on my way to work
and it sounds to me like Trevor Cahill is trying his best to make the A’s put him in the starting rotation. That was pretty sweet him striking out the side in the third. If he keeps this up I don’t see how the A’s can refuse him…..
Go A’s!
Zeigler to Geren…."A-Rod? He’s my bitch." -alox
let's calm down a bit
1) it was the giants offense
2) most of the giants starting lineup wasn’t even playing
i still think cahill should start the year at AA.

Alright
Cahill was dealing, Sweeney stayed hot, Lansford impressed his father, Wuertz gave up another homer, Wimberly gained a bunch of new fans and maybe more stuff but I can’t really remember. Oh yeah, Holliday got an RBI double so everyone can breathe a sigh of relief.

Just getting here. Stupid job hunt is getting in the way of baseball. Looks like Cahill was sharp and the offense putting up early runs. I can’t wait for the games to be televised.
Leon had a 1-2-3 inning in the 7th against SA
Nice to see him pitching well since I have a big man crush on him

excellent
hopefully the a’s go with a 6 man rotation wherever he’s going to be and he’s in it.

Thank you
I’ve got nothing else to do between classes so I might as well listen to the A’s :)
"Their batters are patient to the point that it's annoying." -Ryan Franklin
Haha
I swear I’m taking two of the most depressing classes possible. Human Geography and Environment Science. Both basically teach me how much we’ve messed up the world and that there’s very little hope for any of our grandchildren.
"Their batters are patient to the point that it's annoying." -Ryan Franklin
I took Environmental Science.
I had a good teacher who made it interesting, but things are looking dire for ol’ mamma earth. That class made me feel sorry for Coyotes.
I like my teacher too

I'm afraid Barton doesn't matter to the A's anymore
Bring on Carter/Doolittle
"Their batters are patient to the point that it's annoying." -Ryan Franklin
he will matter to the a's
if he can stay healthy and hit.
until then, who cares.

I just feel like with these injuries
And the pool incident and poor performance last year that the A’s are tiring of him

i don’t like hearing that “chavez is working on a whole new way of throwing” to take strain off his shoulder.

The good news is that his throws will always be perfectly straight
The bad news is it will take about 5 seconds to take off his glove and get the ball to first base
Suzuki says Cahill had crazy movement today

I like what I've seen in the box score so far...
but can we at least wait until the end of the spring before we annoint him as our ace?

Off Topic...
Recorded the Japan v. China game and that Darvish kid for Japan is looking pretty good.
Of course I’d probably look good pitching against a team that only plays 21 games a year and has one player who weighs more than 200lbs.
I hear Darvish will fix Japan's declining population singlehandedly
"Their batters are patient to the point that it's annoying." -Ryan Franklin
Not sure I agree...
He throws very hard, but fastball looked really flat….
"No offense, Nico, but starcitygames.com used to be the AN of Magic sites "
I agree. Very straight. He's only 22 and been pitching in Japan's majors since he was 19.
I think the women over there will control themselves until he develops a good two seamer.
the chinese national team is even less of a challenge than the giants B lineup cahill faced today.
most of those guys probably could never play on decent college teams.

Questions
Is Cahill the 1st Oakland Pitcher to go 3 Innings?
And has the A’s philosophy always been to get AA/AAA pitchers ready for their seasons before MLB Pitchers?
Just askin.
Is there anywhere to get
stats from our other game going on right now?

Interesting nugget from Japan game.
Asian countries use a ball made of horse hide (not made by Rawlings), Rawlings uses cowhide and Rawlings is the official ball of the WBC.
Go Estrada! and Go A’s. Love watching/reading them beat the Giants.
