Comcast Channel 89
I thought Channel 89 was supposed to start for bay area comcast people in early March. It still doesn't work for me. Is this the right channel for Comcast California? Help? I'm both a big Kings and A's fan and I was looking forward to this channel. Is it actually starting in April? I know that the Kings are in the tank, but I want to see every A's game this year for sure!

It works
you just need a digital cable box, which are free.

I think I'm in the same situation...
Channel 89 is listed by my DVR as a channel I recieve, but when I go to it, it says I don’t have any signal. Would a digital cable box fix that?

it works for me (now).
After I did the upgrade, my cable went crappy. But it turns out the splitter coming into the house was degrading the signal by half, making me lose almost all my channels. ironically, 89 came in clear (but with no sound for the first 2 days until Comcast finally fixed the problem on their end-apparently no one in my area had sound on that channel either, but since few if any had upgraded yet, presumably, no one had complained yet.

I had a different experience
I tuned in expecting the worst, but the sound and picture were fine. Looks like a pretty good thing so far. Also, I am emailed the lineups before they are sent to the press box and submitted to the umpires, and receive every stadium camera feed on my laptop. Moreover, I am allowed to roam freely in the home and yard of any Oakland A on the 62-man super roster (oh, you don’t know about that? Gotta get Comcast I guess.)
Not to brag, but Giambi and Cabrera actually accepted my free installation coupon when they arrived in the van. Nice guys too: They even gave me an updated Comcast channel guide and covered my cat in $100 bills. I was advised by Jason that those were mine to keep since, “no one takes money from cats, dawg.” Money’s important too, that’s why, whenever an important financial decision comes up, I’m advised – in person – by Ken Korach. It’s all included in my monthly cable bill! Sweet!
Gotta get my wife away from that Clubhouse shower cam, though it does put her in a rather excellent mood.

So apparently Comcast only includes 89 on digital plans
… which I’m sure everyone already knew, but being not a big TV fan I still only get the standard analog cable channels. But this does include CSN Bay Area, ESPN, etc. But no CSN CA as far as I can tell. Soooo, am I out of luck? I think so. Crappy.
