well it looks like we pretty much know now
that the rotation to begin the season will be Braden, Eveland, Gallagher, Anderson, and Cahill. (Other than Braden that’s not necessarily the order.)
Duke will begin the season on the DL.
Geren wants two long relievers…
My prediction based purely on a simple opinionated guess:
Gallagher will have the best season of the 5 starters and Eveland will finally compile over 200 IP….
Duke + Yocum = 2009 Rich Harden team injury story
"Where's the beef?"
A's Rotation
I’m kind of excited about watching this year’s A’s team score some runs after watching the paint dry the last couple of years. No Crosby or Kendall? That’s mercy. On the other hand, it’s going to be tough getting used to this pitching staff, though. There’s really not one reliably good pitcher in the whole starting rotation. I guess if they got lucky ‘everybody’ could surprise on the ‘up’ side, but it could also be a total disaster. I’ve already seen quite a bit of Braden and Eveland and … uh … you kind of hope they’ll be, what?, average?
Both Braden and Eveland are inconsistent. They can be brilliant out there at times or they can be much less than average. Eveland’s got to control his emotions, seems to get rattled quite easily. I think these two will be serviceable though. Obviously, they’re not the future of our rotation but for now, I think they’ll do a decent job at keeping our team in the game. It’s apparent that not only is Billy Bean relying on this young pitching staff to hold their own, but also this revamped offense to produce a ton of runs.
he better.....
it’s kind of hard to bend a basbal on the dugout wall
Save the thesaurus for when you are in front of the judge. When speaking of the A's, speak with your heart on...................your sleeve!
