You were wise to not show the Raiderettes, or Travis Buck dancing nekkid on the table.

Incredibly, we remembered everthing
This is, of course, why I brought along Mrs doctorK.

For those who missed out
This is the most awesome party space! Huge thanks to LynnZ, who probably got in waaay over her head but who seemed to enjoy herself nonetheless. Next time: Lots more people! I think once Lynn recovers, we can convince her to do this again sooner rather than later.
sorry i didn't make it
Soccer game got moved.
we lost, and i have a bruised foot. i am now thinking it would have been less painful to miss the soccer game.

soccer injury? game yesterday?
you aren’t by chance a student at UC Berkeley, are you????

Lynnzgal you rock!
Other than the Coliseum itself I couldn’t imagine a better place to have a get together.
Aww!
Geez! Tweren’t nothin’. I had lots of help. Leopold Bloom for the decs, and my guys for getting the showroom in shape, skigurl and JLaff for helping me with organizing, and all of you for the great food and conversation. It was truly a joint effort.

Extra leftovers
So, I have five of the pink picture frames, and many of the snazzy parting gifts (thanks Lynnzgal!). The picture frames go to the first five people to email me with their mailing addresses, and the thank you gifts will go to everyone until I run out….

Nice meeting everyone
For those of you who had to carry me out to my niece’s car, I’m really sorry.
I'm here to talk about the past.

All I have to say
Is that pictures don’t do justice to the warm, funny, and caring people I caught on camera. I’m not that good.
"You have to score to win"~Rickey Henderson
No no - you're not the problem
Cameras and Nico are just not a good mix. Oh by the way, I drove home fully expecting to learn that Poochini had died (this morning he threw up everything he’s eaten since 2003) and found he was more peppy than he’s been all weekend. I credit everyone at fANfest.

I totally missed her falling,
I’m glad she’s ok and had a good time. She’s a sweetie!

Luckily, she was able to grab at the stairs before hitting the deck
She managed to break the fall that way.
And many thanks for hosting this party – we had a blast.

I hate those stairs,
but she seemed to like them a lot.
Tell Mrs.doctork I so enjoyed talking with her. She is a lovely woman.

This was such a great time
A HUGE thank you to Lynnzgal for securing the space, taking care of much of the food, and, in general, making the day happen. A sizable thank you also to JLaff for translating a good thought into reality.
Also, thanks to Gigglingone for giving me a ride and enabling me to be there at all. Thanks also to Cindi for an amazing potato salad. And to Slinger for reminding me why the Cheeseboard Collective is one of my favorite places in all of the Bay Area. And to Nico for keeping his pants on until I left.
No thanks at all to everyone in attendance for not reading my and ZigFan’s minds for the first nine-tenths of the party. There’s no justifiable reason why it took that long for a group rendition of “Trade Him att the Deadline” to break out.. (Although that reminds me, thanks to SkiGurl for spontaneously putting together a pretty damn good playlist.)
Seriously, folks, I had a blast today. It was great to see everyone and get a little bit of baseball energy on an otherwise dreary day. Let’s do it again, eh?

I just hope oblique doesn't sue us.
But he wasn’t there, so maybe it didn’t happen. Oh wait, it almost didn’t happen! Good thing we held down the fort all day till everyone caught on!
More thanks..
Lynn – what a great party, and I’m glad you’re willing to do it again, maybe we can celebrate postseason baseball at your place. I look forward to getting to know you this season.
Big Thanks to the A’s staff – Travis dropped off a big box from the good people at the A’s ticketservices. Sweatshirts, bobbleheads, bags, and lots more.
What a very nice surprise.
It is always big fun to get together with A’s fans. And now, since we have determined the line-ups, figured the rotation and all the bullpen innings, rejoiced in having offense and power, sent Chavy a note that he doesn’t have to be the BigBat, sent positive thoughts to our shortstop, (yes, we did!) we have started planning for Opening Night.

I actually went to San Diego this weekend to celebrate my anniversary with my wife, belatedly, of course. Can’t wait to see everyone at AN Day this year!

Many thanks to all who organized and pitched in.
Always well worth the trek to hang with good people, good food and fun! Hope we do it again soon!
Agreed
Well worth the trek (is it still called a trek to drive over from Union City?). Hey, maybe I won’t be 90 minutes late next time, although I did end up taking home more food than I brought. That’s never a bad thing.
I'm here to talk about the past.
It would have been nice to spend more than 2 seconds chatting with you.
But the not so fashionably late arrival combined with the main event with Nico, didn’t leave a lot of time for us little people.
I was thinking the same thing
Actually had to step out of a conversation and interrupt the one you were in just to say hello before the window for those 2 seconds disappeared for good. “Little people”? Nah, everyone is the same size in my eyes.
I'm here to talk about the past.
Let's see
Nico is too easy a target, isn’t he? Whoever brought the chocolate chip cookies is out; those things tasted like Heaven on a plate. Without naming names, let’s just say it was the two groups of people standing inches from each other who obviously didn’t think enough of us to make it one big happy cirlce.
I'm here to talk about the past.
Whoever brought the chocolate chip cookies is out; those things tasted like Heaven on a plate.
Mrs doctorK thanks you (and in case anybody is interested, no, there was nothing “extra” added).
"Warm Springs Infernal" - FSU, 2/6/09 DLD
So I was walking funny
for no reason at all? Huh. It was much funner when there was cause.
I would have missed out on them altogether if my niece didn’t insist I have one. So I had three.
I'm here to talk about the past.
The goat looked me right in the eye
And said “I can be trusted”. I am just too easy sometimes.
I'm here to talk about the past.
That's ridiculous

Not to knock Mrs.doctorK...
because her cookies were spectacular, but had I been local, I would have baked something. THEN you would have tasted heaven….on a plate.
wow, i didn't have the cookies
totally missed those. Foolish me, spent too much time standing in a cirlce and not enough time at the dessert table. Darn.
There's no crying in baseball!
I was following a family rule
Where the circle is around the dessert table.
I'm here to talk about the past.
That is a great rule!
I’m pretty sure I brought half of the dessert table home with me. Enjoying a black & white cookie as we speak.
I'm going to stash one of
Mrs.doctork’s cookies for later.
"You have to score to win"~Rickey Henderson
I brought the table
When I came back for the dessert it was gone. Now I know.
I'm here to talk about the past.
Crazy thing is
I remember asking you to watch the dessert for me while I loaded the table. I guess you interpreted that as “stuff this dessert in a bag and disappear before 67M gets back.”
Guess I had it coming to me.
I'm here to talk about the past.
This is what I'm talking about!
I’m suppose to be watching the goat. You distract me by asking me to “watch” the desserts. While I’m watching said desserts, the goat violates you, and when you get back the desserts are gone! It was all the goat!
The goat?
At least she looked you in the eye. And you did get to enjoy Mrs doctorK’s cookies before all this happend. Not to mention the best 2 seconds of your life! ;-)
Holy Toledo!
A game thread has erupted in our fANfest discussion. Awesome!

Well, why didn't anyone share how many special guests we had?
Once Nico stopped dancing with Jason Giambi, it got quite boring. Eric Chavez just kind of sat there.
