José
[Original lyrics here.]
José
We're gonna flush out the rats and looters
With José's hormone
We're gonna rev up the thick-guaged shooters
When José comes home to stay
We're gonna buy in the street
Shoot on the bench and make it
Throw down the clear till the A's say when
Say anabolic, take it
With José's hormone
With José's hormone, so good
He's the pride of the Oaktown 'hood
He's A-Rod's flame, with Mark McGwire
He played while a-roidin'
(But he's not a liar)
Jo would you love to BALCO
He'll never say no, no
Shine up the butt with andro
We'll shoot it all up tonight
We're gonna mix in the cream
Prick at the stroke of midnight
Dance on with Bonds till D.A.'s say when
Pick up what's left at daylight
With José's hormone
With José's hormone, so bad
He's the Bash Friend you never had
He's A-Rod's flame, with Mark McGwire
He played while a-roidin'
(But he's not a liar)
With José's hormone, so good
He's the pride of the Oaktown 'hood.
He's A-Rod's flame, with Mark McGwire
He played while a-roidin'
(But he's not a liar)

Nice
Though the video reminds me that Steely Dan was one of those few bands that would have been better off never leaving the studio.

Agreed.
Everyone said they could never duplicate what they achieved in the studio and that was pretty much confirmed when I saw them in ‘94 at the Shoreline. Still, for Dan fans, it satisfied a certain hunger to finally see the band after reelin’ in all those years.

Rollin with that band would be kinda like trying to fit Adam Dunn into our lineup
It’s just fairly unwieldy to unpack all that stuff

I respectfully disagree...
I saw them in ’94 and again last year at Shoreline and it was better than flaxseed oil.
I blame Englishmajor.

Brilliant!
Prick at the stroke of midnight
Actually, this could describe Jose at any hour of the day…

The musicians of AN should get together and collaborate.
We could have priceless tracks.
I play guitar, and have a practice space in SF if anyone is interested….

Oblique might have been interested, but I think he died.
Or else he stood-up the adoring masses at fANfest.
A spontaneous chorus of “Trade Him at the Deadline” broke out in his honor, however.
