Mixed emotions on a former A
Much as I love the man, I am really glad that it is some other team having that conversation this year.

Go Rich! I'll always love The Big Canuck!

I see the "Official Rich Harden Spin Book" was included in the trade.
"Don’t read anything into it. We’ve got a much longer spring than normal, so we don’t really need to rush anybody," manager Lou Piniella said. "He’s been throwing and feels nice and strong and healthy. Basically we’re just holding him back a little."
I guess the Cubs knew Prior’s and Wood’s days were numbered with the team and they needed somebody to fill their roles on the DL.
Ok, that’s kinda harsh, and I really do like Rich and wish him well, but I’m sorry, I’ll believe he can stay healthy when I see it.
I could prove God statistically. Take the human body alone - the chances that all the functions of an individual would just happen is a statistical monstrosity.

yeah, that does suck on a Harden level
as a fan though, I am really glad to be past the “If Harden stays healthy” pipe dream… It’s much easier to hope for it when you don’t have to hang your hat on it…
I'm starting to like our bullpen......Wuertz and all.
Harden's not as big of an issue for a team like the Cubs
They can easily afford that 7 mil tag. Especially for the potential upside he gives you. Cuz yes, he is injured a lot. But HOLY SMOKES can he pitch??!!! He is, in my humble opinion, the best pitcher in baseball when healthy. I started last season attempting to attend every Rich Harden start just cuz i knew if he pitched enough of them, we’d trade him. It’s just unfortunate we (in general of baseball fans, not “we” as in A’s fans specifically) don’t get to see him pitch more regularly….
