Organizational Statistics: Winter Leagues
Fellow ANers,
MLB.com compiles all statistics from the Winter Leagues (AFL and the Three Caribbean Leagues), and compiles them organizationally. They seem to keep it updated everyday, and its a great one stop shop to see how the A's prospects are doing. Its been especially fun watching Desme's AFL line, and box scores recently. Anywho, here's the link.....

Keep it, save it, love it...... at least until the end of winter ball.....
Here are some updated stats for some key prospects as of 11/5/09.......

Those strike out numbers are all sorts of wrong
Brown’s k rate is worrying me.
"Since other people actually read these threads, though, probably best that your particular brand of wrongness not go completely unchallenged." - PT
There are differing opinions on me. According to Iglew "DFA is PT with a sense of humor. PT is DFA with introspective self-doubt. I like them both" but according to sirbed Im "The Stats Killer"

looks like the SB column has the actual SO numbers?

everything has been shifted to the right one spot, with OPS disappearing
To be hit by Moriyama's fastball is an honor exceeded only by being crushed under the wheels of the imperial carriage

Sounds like Crosby.
I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal

It's good to see we have speed all over the system
And Gregorio Petit’s OBP of 4.000 is promising.
Have a glove you could spare for a good cause? If so please let me know

valdez is the jesus guzman of this offseason
a couple seasons ago he was a potential breakout prospect for 08, then got injured and barely played. Had a decent season, but will be a minor league FA if not added to the 40 man. If A’s didnt make the wallace trade they might have considered adding valez but it looks less likely now

Valdez is a guy who definitely caught my eye this season
I had kind of written him off after his visa issues and subsequent struggles, but the huge improvement in K-rate he showed this season was very interesting. I’m still not quite sure what to make of him but if he continues to play a decent 3rd base, rarely strike out, and show a modicum of patience and power he could have a good major league career.

Interesting players
Desme is actually slowing down in the AFL. His statistics slowly moving towards reality. Weeks and Brown also doing well which is encouraging. I don’t look to much into Pitcher stats during winter leagues, as Pitchers more so than Hitters are tinkering.
