A.J. A-OK; Series Knotted at 1
Well, what do you know; it's a Series, after all.
A masterful performance by New York starter A.J. Burnett (7IP, 4H, 1ER, 2BB, 9K) gave the Yankees new life, and long balls off the bat of Mark Teixeira and Hideki Matsui made a loser out of Pedro Martinez, in a much-anticipated return to the Bronx.
Matt Stairs drove in Philadelphia's only run, giving the champs a 1-0 lead that would last only until Teixeira tied it in the fourth. With a chance to be the hero, Stairs struck out to end the game against Mariano Rivera, who picked up his 38th career post-season save.
So for the second year in a row the Phillies will take their split and head home in hopes of wrapping up another title.

in both Games 1 and 2 the starting pitching was the key
all of it was good. In Game 1 the Phillies’ starter was better, in Game 2 the Yankees’ starter was better. They were both really good games to watch. The Yankees would have been in a difficult position going into Philadelphia, had they not won at least one game at home.
And the World F’n champion Phillies — hey, splitting one of the first two games in NY, they are in a good position. It still comes down to pitching, especially the starting pitching. I imagine Andy Pettite is starting Game 3 for NY — who’s starting for Philadelphia, Hamels?
I can’t wait for Saturday!

I don't trust Hamels
and Can Lee come back on 3 days?
Its too bad about this game, I have always like Pedro Martinez.

If Phillies are down 2-1
And one Carsten Charles is coming out to pitch the Game 4 for the Yankees, Manuel would be insane to send Blanton out instead of Lee. Actually, even if Phillies are 2-1 up, Sabathia v Blanton sounds like a too unfavorable match-up to me.

World Series
Will “Cupcakes” play a role in this series? Long relief?
