the weather is going to be a problem for the east coast games.

Great sinker and slider
and very good at holding runners (despite one unfortunate game in which he was called for 4 balks in Seattle).
He’d won an NL ERA title a few years before with the Dodgers (as a starter) and had also been suspended for 10 games when pitching for the Rangers for scuffing the ball (the ump found a thumbtack in his glove — oops!).

i was talking to some people from minnesota yesterday, they said the new twinns
venue will not have a retractable roof
I saw a Chiefs vs Raiders game in November once in KC
where it was in the low 20’s and by the end of it I had so much clothing on I looked like a silver and black mummy
The retractable roof design was just too expensive
I think there are going to be some outdoor heaters, but there’s definitely potential for a few rainouts during the summer and snowouts in April and the postseason. It’s snowed a bit in the Twin Cities already.

It's difficult to watch...
Andre Eithier and Carlos Gonzales play and see how good they are. I’d have to say that A’s management made two serious mistakes in letting these guys go for what the team got in return. Probably the worst part is that both of them are going to keep getting better.
exciting game...what I heard of it
I returned home from work, exhausted from a very difficult day. I cooked a steak, made a sald and poured myself a glass of wine, and turned the radio on to the game.
After eating I felt like I needed to lay down so I did so on the couch, still listening to the radio blasting the game….I fell asleep when the score was still 5-4, and woke up to hear Lidge save the game with the score 8-6.
