The ridiculous thing about AK

is that his errors are just terrible mistakes. It’s not like he bouncing throws to first all the time because he has no arm — he just can’t pick the ball up. He’s a reasonably competent 2B — just get the ball in your glove like you’re at second. Geez.

I can understand why he didn't make the play on that high chopper

that he would have had to barehand and throw all in one motion. That’s a 3B-only play.

But picking up that grounder cleanly and stepping on 3B? He’s physically capable of doing that.

iglew got me interested in why that picture of Ryan was taken

This site is interesting — they’re doing a project on athletes’ tattoos, so there were several other baseball players photographed. Go look at the pictures. Jermaine Dye has a really creepy tattoo. Also, Brian Anderson (Ry’s old BFF) was involved too.

Oh, and there’s another very pretty pic of Ry. I can’t figure out how to post it here. But it’s quite nice.

he project is a high end, fine art coffee table book featuring professional athletes and their body art and the stories behind it. Yesterday, in the downtown nooks and crannies, I had the opportunity to shoot an amazing athlete, Ryan Sweeney of the Oakland A’s. He was the perfect model and had an amazingly laid back attitude about having his shirt off in the streets!
