Hi. I'm A's fan in Seoul, South Korea.
Do you remember Matt Watson?
Matt join Doosan Bears in Korean Baseball League.
He is fourth former A's player who play Korean Baseball League.
First player is Tim Harikkala, and Seth Etherton,
and Justin Lehr.
Last year, Lehr was abused and released mid season.
Matt Watson's new team is my favorite team in Korean Baseball League.
2009 season, new foreign player in Korean Baseball League is
Victor Diaz., Fransico Cruceta, Runelvys Hernandez . etc.
And, Doug Clark (former Sac), Karim Garcia, Roberto Petagine, Chris Oxpring play since 2008

I remember going to my first Rivercat game a few years ago, and Matt Watson and Charles Thomas both tore it up, and I was super excited to see them come up. Hopefully they find some success in the foreign market.

Watson had a bit of the Cust Syndrome
put up solid minor league stats, especially in AAA, but was generally blocked at his position, and eventually got kinda old for his league. Of course, Watson also didn’t have the HR power of Cust, but he did put up a line of .306/.383/.851 in 2884 career AB’s, and a lot of them were in AAA. I think he should have had a real shot somewhere in the big leagues, lord knows he’s a better hitter than some of the outfield slop people are playing nowadays (Juan Pierre and Andruw Jones, i’m looking at you).

I’m guessing .851 is his OPS, which’d put his slugging percentage at .468.
That said, I don’t think the comparison of Watson to Cust is a good one. .468 SLG in a minor league career isn’t the same as putting up a .489 SLG in the majors like Cust has done the past couple of years. The knock on Cust was that his power didn’t make up for his weaknesses. The knock on Watson was that he didn’t have enough power to make up for his, and Watson didn’t really show consistent power until he was too old for the leagues he was in.

Bagging on a guy for limited proficiency in written English is asinine, particularly given that subject-verb agreement errors are very common among English language learners from East Asia.
