Help - 2005 MVP Baseball hidden players and edits
2005 MVP Baseball is a great baseball video game (I have it on Gamecube but I think it came out on PS2 and XBOX). To make a complete A's roster last season I found (i.e. other people told me) some of the players who are in the game under different names (because of contract issues or something). Unfortunately the 2009 A's roster is quite different than last year. Does anyone know if Ziegler, Devine, Suzuki, Cunningham, Buck, or Blevins are hidden somewhere?
Below is a list of players found already, including some of the attributes that need to be changed. If anyone has more info it would be great to know, that way I don't have to buy another baseball video game (MLB 2K8 was alright).
Top 100 Prospects:
56. Pat Lidge, RP Oakland A's ( Huston Street )
64. Ben Brinkman, CF Oakland A's (Javier Herrera)
84. Chris Rae, RF Chicago White Sox (Ryan Sweeney)
96. Andy McDonald, C Oakland A's (Daric Barton)
Players not on the original A's roster but in the game under their correct name:
Joe Blanton (SP-MLB)
Jack Cust (1B-AAA)
Lenny DiNardo (SP-AAA)
Mark Ellis (2B-MLB)
Rich Harden (SP-MLB)
Dan Johnson (1B-MLB) [Added in Online Download]
Lou Merloni (2B-AAA) [Change from Paul Cruz]

Short answer, nope
Long answer, it was basically each teams’ Top 3 or 4 “prospects” that are “hidden” in the game – and remember, the rosters released at the time were outdated from Opening Day. Some teams had 4 “real” prospects, others had 2. And let’s not get started on their idea of who’s a “top” prospect.
Mind you, this doesn’t include various other players who’s names and faces were changed for various reasons (the late Cory Lidle, for crossing the picket line during the strike, or Barry Bonds for being like MJ and having his own license so no one could profit off of him except himself).
At any rate, you might as well make your own version of Ziggy and Suzuki. They aren’t in the game in any respect.
I have Barry Bonds on the list
in MVP 2005 he is a white guy named John Dowd.
You have to include smiley faces - Poppy
;- ) :- ) :-O : -> : -] : -}
Fun fact
Jairo Garcia Is Jairo Garcia. It won’t let you edit the names of any “official” player. So the only way “Santiago Casilla” will be in the game is if you create him from scratch.
Best bet is to find a fan site, I can't remember exactly what it was called but you should be able to find it on google,
that’s a MVP Baseball fansite with a bunch of custom stuff. They have Custom, updated rosters, ballparks, skins, etc…

Doh...someone beat me to it...
I was going to say mvpmods.com….I just logged in too.
MVP Baseball 2005 is still the best baseball game ever made. Here’s hoping MLB2K9 is at least remotely close.
Look at what the 2k franchise has done
Thanks for the crappy video games, maybe Front Office Manager will be decent
Clear its radiance shine...
Yeah, shitty that MLB sold them exclusive rights and killed MVP
MVP 2005 (with the mvpmods updates) is still far and away the best PC baseball game ever made. I hope FOM can beat it from the GM perspective (owner mode isn’t really spectacular in MVP 05).
