Selig wants Fremont to approve A’s ballpark
{EDITOR'S NOTE - This fanpost has been edited to avoid potential copyright infringement. Please click on the above link to read the article, which discusses the possibility that Bud Selig could bring Santa Clara into play as an A's destination. Sure to be discussed are Mr. Wolff's pre-ownership relationship with Bud Selig, the Giants' rights or lack thereof in objecting to their territorial claims being compromised, and which city might move most quickly to approve a ballpark, especially in this economy. -Nico}

So when he says "other communities"
Does he mean San Jose? What else would there be? I think if not Fremont the team is going to end up back in Oakland.

Weird...only the title says "Santa Clara" specifically
The article only refers to Santa Clara County.

there is a certified EIR for San Jose
Assuming funding can be worked out, that is the path of least resistance as the EIR is a current hold up in Fremont.

Wolff to speak in San Jose next month
The event will focus on the A’s and Quakes. It will be put on by the SJ/SV Chamber of Commerce.
A’s and Earthquakes: Plans for 2009?
with Lew Wolff
Wednesday, February 11, 7:30-9:30 AM
@ Adobe Systems
Park Conference Room
345 Park Ave., San Jose
Given today’s article, I am leaning towards the idea that Wolff will speak openly about San Jose as a future site.

It's easier than going to Portland or Vegas :)
Now, is it wrong to hope upon hope that the group trying to buy part of the Raiders successfully does so, moves to LA, and we FINALLY get to blow up Mt Davis and fully renovate the current stadium?

It doesn't cost anything to hope.
But truthfully I have very little. I am holding my breath just praying that the A’s build in Fremont. I hate that the A’s didn’t have enough fans to keep the team in Oakland.

The A's have plenty of fans in Oakland IM4Oakgal.
The problem is that not enough of them go out to the ballpark.

That's not true
I clearly saw a few A’s hats in the riots. BTW, think Holiday misses Denver yet?

Can we personally blow up Mt. Davis?
If so, I’m with you.

"My group runs some frogloks down the hall to finish them off and POP! RASTER! If there was a way to scream louder than caps in EQ I was doing it. Man I am straight panicking because I know I have NO CHANCE soloing and the party has run off. I'm in my hotel room; it's like 5am, and I am straight hollering, in EQ and in real life. Bottom line is the group comes back, heals me, and kills Raster! WOOT!" -Curt Schilling on his favorite memories in the video game "EverQuest"

Move to Dallas!
We could really use a big league club out here.
