Open Thread: Game 151 - A's vs. Angels (Cont.)

After five innings, we have a real game on our hands. The A's are up 1-0 on the back of strong pitching by Greg Smith (only 1 walk, BTW) and an opportunistic double by Aaron Cunningham that plated Bobby Crosby in the fifth. The A's opted not to add on with the bases loaded and one out, so we're keeping this thing close. On to the sixth inning, A's!

Unsure.

It’s been so long since we’ve had two threads for a game.

But he came back. And there was much rejoicing.

I wasn't here last night.

See how that comes back to bite me?

Tivo’d.

by VORP is too nerdy on Sep 17, 2008 8:45 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

It was a dirrrty thread.

Lots of innuendo. No, in your endo!

But he came back. And there was much rejoicing.

In that case...

Maybe I was better off..

by VORP is too nerdy on Sep 17, 2008 8:48 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

That was a game thread?

I thought it was a “Our players are HAWT” thread.

i would trade

Ray Fosse, my cookie dough ice cream, and a pb and j if it meant we never had to finish behind the Angels in the standings ever again.

That's all?

I’d willingly trade Korach for Hudler if we never had to finish behind the Angels in the standings ever again.

by danmerqury on Sep 17, 2008 8:46 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Okay but just to warn you..

Hudler has a reputation for hiding injuries so he can make more money.

I'd stop talking about Dale and Ryan and Travis and Cliffy.

But he came back. And there was much rejoicing.

by Jennifer on Sep 17, 2008 8:48 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

True. I've probably heard Hudler more this year anyway.

Hawk is like listening to Beethoven compared to Hudler

Hudler has all of Hawk’s homerism, but he adds a complete inability to ever say anything entertaining or insightful. I love listening to Hawk talk about baseball, just not about the current White Sox. Plus, I love Hawk’s catchphrases. He makes the game fun as long you don’t care that he’s rooting for the White Sox (and I don’t mind a homer home team announcer). Hawk’s worst quality is actually bitching about the umpires.
