Today--It's over! Stockton takes home the crown. If you told me this would happen in the beginning of the year, I wouldn't have been surprised, but if you told me they would do it without four of the starters that began the year (cahill and anderson promoted mid-season, de los santos injured, Fernandez to the pen) I would have had a tough time believing it. Good work Stockton!

 Lancaster
 0   0   0   0   1   0   0   0   2      3   11   3

Three Stars:

1. Carter 3B 3-5 2R, 2HR, 5RBI

2. Donaldson C 2-4 R, 3B BB, K

3. Horton SS 3-4 R, RBI, BB

Pitching:

Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Hernandez, C 5.1 6 1 1 2 4 0 0.79
Currin (W, 2-1) 2.2 3 0 0 0 2 0 5.73
Demel 1.0 2 2 2 0 0 0 2.57

Hernandez is looking good and Horton is making a case for himself as a legit prospect. Not too much power or range at SS, but he could be a serviceable as a second baseman (not like we have many of those). Carter is a monster.

"Bricktown Showdown" on Tuesday

According to this report, Brad Knox will start for the River Cats vs. Ian Kennedy for the Yankees. When last seen, Knox was getting pounded for 11 hits in 2-1/3 innings by Salt Lake, and the start prior to that, 7 hits and 6 walks in 2-2/3 innings vs. Tacoma. Hmmmph. Kennedy has a 1.00 WHIP in 69 innings at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. Doesn’t matter, I guess, since Sacramento has only played the one game since Friday so everyone but Anderson should be available. 5:00 p.m. Pacific on ESPN2 on Tuesday night…be there!

Thanks for the update

should be interesting. Hopefully Knox can pick things up a little.

Update to the Stockton game:

Stockton is now up 9-1 in the ninth. Chris Carter has hit TWO bombs tonight, which gives him 5 in the postseason, and 43 on the year. He’s also starting at third base.

Man, if this guy can learn how to play defense at third too…sweet.

44 homers on the year

Didn’t mean to shortchange the man.

It's over! Stockton wins 9-1

So the A’s finish with two minor league champions.

I'd rec this fanpost up if you get a chance

It’s something most people on AN will eventually want to read.

Not only that the two teams won their respective championships, but also that CarGon and Carter were the offensive stars of the two games.

And, that everyone can watch the Rivercats on ESPN2 at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Hell, even the A’s don’t get on ESPN.

Yay Sacramento and Stockton

Donaldson had easily the best playoffs of all these guys, which is great to see. .413 with 4 HR, 4 2B, and a 3B. I’m excited about this guy.

The A's colors are green and gold.
