Open Thread: Game 132 - A's at Angels
If you can remember all the way back to July 11th, that's when the A's last put a two-game winning streak on the books. They'll try to do that tonight behind Greg Smith, who has matched up well with the Angels, opposed by John Lackey, who has dominated the A's - and most everyone - in his career.
Tonight's A's lineup has Rajai Davis leading off, and Emil Brown batting cleanup,
against a RHP. Need more be said?
Davis - CF
Crosby - SS
Cust - DH
E. Brown - LF
Suzuki - C
Hannahan - 3B
Barton - 1B
Gonzalez - RF
Patterson - 2B
Figgins - 3B
Kendrick - 2B
Teixeira - 1B
Hunter - CF
Rivera - LF
Matthews - RF
Quinlan - DH
Napoli - C
S. Rodriguez - SS

This lineup makes me not at all interested in watching the game

Agreed.
Just may watch Hil-dawg instead.
So who is hotter, Salma or Halle?

You don't like seeing Crosby batting second?

One day Geren will start putting the best hitter 2nd where he belongs
I don’t really like any of it.
Today also seems like a good day to put Patterson in left, Pennington at second, and Emil Brown on a rocket to the moon.

I'll let my co-workers know. We work on the next spacecraft to go to the moon.
Unfortunately, it will be about 10-15 years. Sorry!

I know there were some Sweeney pictures posted in last nights game thread, so
I was wondering if Jennifer or any of the other sweeney fans here had seen his new pics that show his very large tattoo?

I just have one request for tonight
A’s hitters need to get ready to swing early in the count for obvious reasons.
Lackey is so ugly that the longer the hitter is at the plate, the more they are hypnotized by his ugliness.
I hate unproductive outs and the A's are producing them at record production

Hey
Y’all! Well we weren’t exactly gonzo about last night’s line up either, but they got the job done.
by lynnzgal on Aug 26, 2008 7:05 PM PDT 0 recs
It's not so much a winning/losing thing
I just have no interest in what half the guys in this lineup do. Emil Brown could hit 4 home runs tonight and I simply don’t give a crap because he’s not going to be on the team the next time the A’s play a game that matters.

Other teams are doing this against Lackey this year as well.
He gives up a few more runs this way it appears.

As long as we don't see K-Rod
If we are losing by a run in the bottom of 8, then I hope they score 3 or 4 more so he has no chance at a save.
Of course I want us to beat them but if we are to lose, then no save for that clown

Last year I made the trip to Oakland.
I extended my stay by one day at the last minute cuz I had to see them face Lackey. Of course the A’s lost and I had to see K-Rod close the game out too. Uggh.
