DLD 8/26: Fine, I'll do it.
That's what I get for complaining about the lack of a DLD.
In related news, there was a 2.1 earthquake detected in Anaheim as Frank chugged home from third to score on a wild pitch.
Kurt Suzuki, who is from Hawaii, is happy his state produced the Little League World Series champs. "It's awesome," he said. Reliever Alan Embree was just as excited. "One of them said I was his favorite player - I almost fell over," the 38-year-old left-hander said.
That kid needs help.
Gio Gonzalez and Eric Patterson were named to the All-Pacific Coast League team.
Woohoo! We have All Stars! Or something.
Time for instant replay, starting Thursday.
It's not for everybody. Cubs manager Lou Piniella said, "When an NFL coach drops that red handkerchief, I go to the refrigerator for four or five minutes."
I think he meant to say that it takes him four or five minutes to walk to the refrigerator.
Okay, let's see: I've got links, block quotes, and a photo. That'll do. Now, dump!

Bruce Jenkins is trying to get the attention of firejoemorgan.com.
All you really need to get the flavor of Jenkins’ column is this:
… and those men wanted the ball – all night, if that’s what it meant.
There were a lot of stupid, long confusing words that I’m sure normal people don’t use. @('.')@

It was bad - stupid
Except when you consider that the Giant’s BP is horrrid, so maybe CG’s are not so bad.

Reading that column pretty much means you never have to read Jenkins again. His essence wrapped up in one neat little bundle.

Phils, Red Sox interested in Kotsay
Maybe we can trade them Joey Devine.
Children, until we have taught them better, will be perfectly happy with a seasonal round of games in which conkers succeeds hopscotch.

Nooo, not the Red Sox.
I like Kotsay, but I have a general rule that involves disliking any person in a Red Sox uniform. This could be a problem.

AN feels a little weird lately.

Yes,
the trolls abound….the bandwagon is emptying….the despair at an all time high (for AN)…
Kinda like it here now, as it tells me who the real die-hard fans are…. ;)

Doesn't it seem strange though
that so many trolls appear while the bandwagon is emptying. When teams that I am mildy interested in begin to do bad, I usually just tune out and take the family out to the park. I guess it’s just me, but I dont know if I would take the effort to get an account for a blog just to make a loud fanpost and disappear only to return and do it again a month later.

The zeitgeist is changing
and not for the better. And not particularly because the 2008 A’s stink, either, IMO.
Arte didn't get much Home Run Derby. He was dug in too deep or moving too fast. His idea of great R&R was cold rice and a little rat meat.

Yeah.
No DLD till mid-afternoon, and even now it has fewer than 30 comments. (And after all that hard work…) We need a return to normalcy, or something.

We won yesterday, what's all the doom and gloom?
So what if the bandwagon is now a local, and doesn’t go all the way to Oct, so what? We celebrate one win at a time. I’m in, who’s with me?
