Open Game Thread: Game 131 - A's at Anaheim

Oakland Athletics at Los Angeles Angels, Aug 25, 2008 7:05 PM PDT

Well the game is pretty much meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but I still love beating the Angels if we can.  It's not news, but I can't stand that team.

Any way, the A's send Dallas Braden to the mound and I think Braden has actually been pretty good this time in the rotation.  Maybe it's just because my expectations haven't been terribly high for him, but he's looked good to me even if his results haven't shown it.  His splits in August aren't good.

Here are his stats for the year:

W-L G GS CG SHO SV BS IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP
2008 - Dallas Braden 3-3 15 6 0 0 0 0 49.2 50 25 25 5 19 34 4.53 1.39

The A's face Spicoli tonight in Jered Weaver.  Ironically, Weaver has a similar ERA to Braden right now.  Course he has a career ERA under three against the Oakland A's offense.  Not that that's a shock or anything.  Here are his stats for the year:

W-L G GS CG SHO SV BS IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP
2008 - Jered Weaver 10-9 25 25 0 0 0 0 147.0 147 76 73 19 44 119 4.47 1.30

The lineups tonight are as follows:

The best news?  We're a week away from September call-ups.  I wonder who we shall see before the end of the year.

LET'S GO A'S!!!!!

+1 on the hatred

The local radio station here has an affiliation with both the A’s and the rats. I got in my car to go pick up dinner and heard the pregame kick off.

When I heard it was Hudler and the Angel’s broadcast on, I actually felt my stomach turn.

Let’s hope for another blow out win against them tonight. (A guy can always hope before the first pitch, right?)

I think I'm going the whole weekend.

I haven’t been to a game since AN Day!

but since that seat isn’t close to Oakland anymore, I guess somewhere in the stadium…..anywhere is fine….you want to call me when you find out what’s available?
