An Ode to our Staplehead
This one has been waiting for both Dale to do something good and for us to win the game: the hit song STAPLEHEAD!
My friends and I always argue if this should be considered from the album Bona Drag Bunt or Viva Hatte.
original lyrics here
Why do you play here?
And why why don’t you hit more?
I’m so sorry
I’m so sorry
Why are you still here
When you know it makes things hard for us?
Why won’t you go, oh
Down to Sacto?
Why do you swing and miss?
And why look at called strike threes?
I’m so sorry
I’m so sorry
Why are you still here
When you know it makes things hard for us?
Why won’t you go, oh
Down to Sacto?
You had to go Safeco field
‘just’ to hit a big homerun
It was just the same, just the same
Daric we used to know in late ‘07
Oh, so many blasts and big base hits but
I’m so very sickened,
Oh I am so sick of ’08.
Here’s to '09, '09
Here’s to '09, '09
Here’s to '09, '09 oh yeah….

ouch
but that’s pretty good
"If you hit .440 with 20 bombs, you don't have to do s---. You don't have to bring a glove to practice, just hit and leave whenever you want. You can bring a 40 and smoke a cigarette and call me from the parking lot asking me what time the game is, and I'll tell you. You can even say 'F--- you, Steve!' Actually, don't say that, that wouldn't be very nice." -Steve Friend, Head Coach, Chabot College Gladiators Baseball

thank you
I actually didn’t mean it to be mean. I wanted to say I was sorry for thinking those things all year long. But after rereading it, it sure does look like I wanted to throw the poor guy under the bus.
I was thinking about deleting this since it seems to have the wrong tone, and appearantly the audience agrees with that, but I think I will leave it out there as a cautionary tale. Reread your material folks, make sure you come across the way you intend-or else you will float nearly alone in the intertubes…

that's why I stick to Dylan or to Klassics of the Kanon
Most pop songs are too short and repetitious to do any nuance. Once you nail the theme and get the meter lined up, you’re stuck.
Nice job, though.
There were a lot of stupid, long confusing words that I’m sure normal people don’t use. @('.')@
