kk says

Rowland-smith pitched well. Does it really count as pitching well against this lineup?

by Future Ed on Aug 21, 2008 9:32 PM PDT   0 recs

About as much as Smith pitching against their's.

Breaking News

Scot Shields got an out

SADLY

I hate unproductive outs and the A's are producing them at record production

by Trainman on Aug 21, 2008 9:33 PM PDT   0 recs

Hey Trainman

You would love Safeco Field

by HRH on Aug 21, 2008 9:34 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah

BNSF have a yard there with about a zillion freights a day

by Trainman on Aug 21, 2008 9:35 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

No

I was a switchman in New Zealand for 13 years. Also drove a few when no management was watching.

I could stop a freight train on a dime.

Had a bet for $100.00 who could stop a fully loaded freight closest to the switch with one application of the brakes. I got within about 6 inches of it. The whole crew tried it. The engineer one day, the conductor the next, myself and then my sidekick.

I worked with the same engineer so he used to let me take the controls out on the main line. The only thing he didn’t like was I used to wind those locos up too quick and blow all the sand out at times

C'mon, take one for the team!

Is this a bad time?

I just woke up. I hate when I fall asleep when it’s light and wake up when it’s dark. It’s still Thursday, right? I’d hate to think I skipped it and moved right on to Friday. For one, I am late for work.

I'm here to talk about the past.

Friday?

Dude, it’s Saturday.

You just made my night. I had not heard about this.

This is sweeeet.

Seriously, I don’t even care if the A’s lose tonight now. This rules.

that can't be good

Did we win yesterday (Friday)?

I'm here to talk about the past.

We're winning...

for now I know that may sound crazy but it’s true as of this moment, we might even add a run.

by mattman on Aug 21, 2008 9:37 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Oh shite

Wait…

YES!

I didn’t know that was possible.

Whoa

I got up, there was a runner on first.
I pulled the cookies out of the oven, he was running to second.
I close the oven, he’s on third.

And now, he scored. And the cookies are awesome. I should bake these for every game…

Never saw that play

Oh no

Does Carlos G. often get thrown out stealing?

by LibrariAN on Aug 21, 2008 9:40 PM PDT   0 recs

I noticed that too

throwing the bat at the ball
No speed on the swing.

by MobiusKlein on Aug 21, 2008 9:43 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Everytime I start to think that he has an awful 0-15 stretch where he looks lost again

It’s hard to say at this point. I’ve decided to just not worry too much about it and hope that next year he’s able to start fresh and not think about 2008.

During this commercial break

I’m going to do a Walmart online survey – bought a backpack there yesterday. First time I have ever bought anything at the big W.
