The Twins Series Seen in Person
Since I made the mistake of moving from the sunny Northern California to the Frozen Tundra Which we call Minnesota for college I am rarely allowed to see my beloved A's play.
Luckily I was able to take a few days off, head down to the cities got a hotel room and got ready for the series.
First off I have to say, twins fans are actually pretty good baseball fan's. When i went back home and saw Yankees A's there was a lot of bad shit talking and nonsense going on. Talked to a bunch of fan's who asked me about our players, most they had no idea who was going on. I had to only deal with one jerk who came down and screamed at me telling me the A's suck. I laughed, he asked what I was laughing for, told him the score of the game. Then security carted him off really quick.
Game 1: Went to this one solo, sat in the upper deck near first. They had some thing kinda like the running sausages but they had fish with characters like Herman Killerfish and Babe Tooth. Definently in Minnesota. Hannahan, went to the UofM and got a good standing ovation
Felt great that Elly smacked the first homer off the first pitch, then Zuki tacked on too more, making me feel really good considering our lack of runs.
Honestly don't know what went wrong with Duke, he looked fine, k'd a guy. Then left. Was confused as hell.
CarGon's catch made my jaw drop, that had to be one of the best plays that i have seen in person. Also Sarloos pitched amazing, I was scared seein him a few years back, but he changed me mind.
I was disappointed that Ziegler's streak was up before he came over here but i was pretty pumped to see him come in....until he gave up two to Maur. I was scared, thinking here goes my A's again. But then he got out of it in the 9th game over.
Felt pretty good about that, even had a laugh back in the hotel when i was in the elevator with a bunch of twins fans. "This is kinda awkward" i told them, and then i asked that they not follow me back to my room.
Game 2: Excited to see gallagher in person. Found out that it is not too exciting to see gallager in person.
Looked shaky from the start, control was off. Often found himself down 3-0 almost every inning.
Granted it was nice to see zuki homer quick, Gallagher let up 3 runs. Then Again, then 4 more. The Casilla let some more go.
Half of the lineup got taken out backups put in. Cust is not a good right fielder.
I left in the 8th frustrated, decided to get back to the hotel to hop in the hottub and have a few beers.
Game 3: Not happy too see Lirano vs Braden. But surprisingly Braden was pitching extremely well. Lirano got his pitch count up really high really fast.
But then as game dragged on Braden lost control made a few mistakes. A's stranded runners. Twins defenders in the right place at right times.
A's didn't get any breaks.
Good things was huston street pitched very good, it was nice to see some young guys get some hits. Embree also did good in his turn.
Overall i wasn't expecting too much coming in but i had my hopes high after the first games. The last game we could have won very easy if we would have had a few breaks come our way a few less go the twins way the series would have been ours.
Lets get some revenge here in a few weeks so i can talk some smack to all my twinkie roommates and friends.

Great to hear an A’s fan a’s fan from up their, although this definitely wouldn’t be the time to brag to your friends, you did get to see some decent young prospects that the A’s have and I think one of the brighter spots in this series was the fact that sarloos was back and had a good showing. We has proved that he can pitch at this level before and is a ground ball specialist, it’s unfortunate that he probably won’t be inserted into a starters role next year due to our young pitchers but hopefully he can stick around to possibly be a long reliever like Duke did when he was first brought up.

Where are you going to school?
Collegeville? Duluth? Anyhow, good to hear from A’s fans in L’Etoile du Nord and hope you make it to the Fair as well.
Polynesian Sauce may not be available in all locations.

Based on the last two games
It might have been better to see the series in prison, rather than in person.
I'm here to talk about the past.
