Snapfish Photo Day pictures!
The Snapfish Photo Day event was held before the A's vs. White Sox game today. Fans were allowed to go on the field on the warning track and take pictures of the A's players. I thought we were going to be taking pictures of them just warming up or something but the players actually came out to pose for and with fans!
Here are my pictures from Photo Day! :
- Mike Sweeney with his son Michael. How lucky is that kid to have Sweeney Sr. as his dad?!
- Cliff Pennington
- I really DO believe M. Sweeney is THE nicest guy in baseball! Can we keep him for one more year please?
- The BFFs - Ryan Sweeney and Daric Barton - handing out Snapfish t-shirts.
- 3 Sweeneys and a Barton
- Huston Street and Joey Devine
- Huston looks tired. =T
- Joey Devine
- Jack Hannahan
- Kurt Suzuki
- Around 11:45'ish, the players had to start going back into the clubhouse to get ready for the game. Dan Meyer and Dallas Braden were walking past our area and fans were calling out to them to take one last picture. The stadium workers were telling us "no, they have to go NOW" and Dallas and Dan both said "yeah, sorry, we HAVE to go" but then they turned around and ran towards these kids to take one last picture with them!
- Then they quickly ran away before they got yelled at again! :)
- Santiago Casilla
- My friend did not know how to take a good picture of Gio Gonzalez and I. =P
- Rajai Davis
- And last but not least, the Ryan Sweeney player appearance in San Ramon was after the game. THIS is why his AN nickname is "Swooney". :)
I'm bummed I missed getting a picture with Ellis, Ziggy, and CarGon but it was still a great day! Of course, a win would have made it perfect but hopefully we can take the series tomorrow!
GO A's!!

Great guys, Chavez-Ellis-Kotsay, but when it comes to being the life of the party, none of them can carry Swisher's jock. ~Scott Ostler SF Gate

I also liked that most of them wore their game jerseys for this. At past ones, they just had their warmups on

Those are great shots!
I was on the other side of the field, so I have a lot of pictures of players walking away because their wranglers told them it was time to go. And I missed seeing MyBoyfriend Sweeney! :(
I’ll upload & post a few pics tomorrow.

Re: Street looked tired
He should stay on his side of the bed a little more often. Not only would it get ride of the bags under his eyes and may allow him to pitch better the rest of the year.

hmm
I guess the married life is keeping Huston up late at night…either that or the stress of not being able to close games keeps him awake all night. Who knows! Love him either way though!

Hope you don't mind if I put a bunch in here...
instead of making a new diary.
Mr. Poppy didn’t want to join me on the field, so he sat in 216:

I was trying to figure out the different auto-focus settings of my new camera, so not only did I have it WRONG for my first few shots, but I somehow managed to make even Jack Hannahan look ugly:

Kurt Suzuki, not focused, but at least not ugly:

Stereo Gonzalezes… Gio & Carlos:

(I think it was shortly after that point that the lovely Cliff Pennington strolled by while I was still wrestling with my AF settings, so no picture of him.)
Baby Sweeney:

Daric Barton:

So here’s a shot that I would have loved to get — a couple were trying to coax their very little, very shy girl to stand near Daric and have a picture taken. Daric was squatting and also trying to coax her over, smiling, very cute, and I had this fantastic shot of him & her until someone meandered in front of me:

I guess just because it’s PHOTO DAY doesn’t mean you have to actually, you know, watch out for where people are pointing their cameras when you’re strolling around within a few feet of the photo subjects… :(
I repositioned myself and got blocked again. By the time I had a clear shot, the cute shy little girl had made it clear that she wanted no part of a picture with Daric, and her dad (the guy on the left in the White Sox jersey) picked her up.
Anyway…
Joey Devine:

Sean Gallagher:

Gallagher & Casilla:

Casilla, Gallagher, Barton and Sweeney:

And the player wranglers WERE very serious about getting the players to take off when it was time to go, NOW!
So I have several shots of players walking/running away:

great pics!
You took some real great pictures! thanks for sharing!! Too bad those people got in the way of your picture of Daric being cute. How rude. Shame on them :) I love the pictures of Gallagher. I think the guy has a good future ahead of him and he just so happens to be the cutest thing around! I don’t know how flattering that is to a man…but he is adorable!
