He is, man! Just a king-sized JERK
Does Pete Rose belong in the HOF? Yup. Do I feel the least bit sorry for him that he’s not in? Nope.
I needed a team so I wouldn’t turn into one of the eighty million pink hat-wearing Bud Light-drinking mulleted idiots at Fenway.

i could care less
listening to ray fosse makes me a bigger pete rose fan by the day. fosse is a windbag who needs to get a grip on reality. no, jason kendall is not the reason why the a’s were good two years ago. sorry, ray.

Oh, and I will take Kurt Suzuki batting .290 over Jason Kendall batting .190 any day. Ray, give Zook a break! The guy is awesome for being in the bigs a year and a half and coming up as a C+ prospect. I say top 10 catchers in Baseball right now, especially with how many games he plays and how we can use him for the next 6 years!

At least Fosse isn't a lying asshole.
He just has a bias toward catchers.

yes, and A's players
I’ll always enjoy Foss

Yup
I just don’t get the Fosse hate around here.
I’m not looking for an announcer to do statistical analysis, I’m just looking for entertainment.

I can see the argument, a little
He was blind to Kendall’s problems but sometimes comes off too harshly toward Suzuki, for one.
Aside from that, he can get opinionated at times but what’s wrong with that? Disliking him to the point of preferring Pete Rose, though? That seems a bit much.

He definitely has favorites among players
but on top of that, both he and Kuiper ramble on about idiotic things. Does anyone really care that they love Dibs? Do we need to hear about it during every broadcast? Do we care about Raymond the security guard standing behinfd the opposing team’s manager? Do we need to see that every game? How many times will he talk about how great HD broadcasts are when the game is rarely on in HD?

It doesn't bother me, but I guess your mileage may vary.
As for the HD, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone’s telling him to pimp HD every chance he gets to encourage people to get it the more they hear about it.

I wouldn't have a problem with him pimpimg HD so much
if the games were actually on in HD. He justs comes off sounding stupid when each game he asks if they’re on in HD and the answer is no. How does that get people to go out and get an HD TV?

There's a bit of a problem with that, yeah. Comcast and the A's need to improve that relationship.

I Like Fosse
I think he does a good job. What baseball announcer isn’t biased about their team? At least he isn’t as over the top as guys like Hawk Harrelson or those of the Angels.

Fosse and collisions
He broke up the fight between Reggie Jackson and Bill North in June ’74, and ended up on the DL. But he came back to hit a big three-run homer in Game 2 of the ALCS and a solo shot in the World Series clincher.
Summer collisions didn’t work well for Fosse, but October ones did him just fine, it seems.

I'm here to talk about the past.

Oh, COLL-I-SIONS.
I thought PD33 was talking about how Fosse secretly agreed to drop the ball and help Rose win the bet he had placed on the game…
Interweaving, diverse, not to say conflictive emphases and a broad spectrum of items to form a dynamic exchange of parallel and self-eclipsing spatial and temporal zones.

I thought there were allegations that Ray's pouty moue wasn't entirely natural
There were a lot of stupid, long confusing words that I’m sure normal people don’t use. @('.')@

nice to see that...
Poppy and monkeyball haven’t dropped the ball and can still deliver the goods with the best of them. I kinda miss that.

I used to love Fosse
until this year. Although he’s lightened up recently, he used to rag constantly on Suzuki and how he did this thing wrong or he did that thing incorrectly. I know he has a hard-on for Jason Kendall but I’ll take Suzuki over 10 Jason Kendalls and just about over every catcher in this league save maybe Mauer or Martinez.
