$1.01 Tickets for 8/29 game
I just got an email from the A's office, so I thought I would post it here. It'll eventually get up somewhere though.
Brad Ziegler has smashed the record for career-starting
scoreless innings set 101 years ago. The record of 25 was
previously set by George McQuillan in 1907. Zeigler's
streak began on May 30, 2008 when he made his Major League
debut. He broke McQuillan's record on Sunday, July 27, but
kept going, racking up 39 scoreless innings to complete
his three-month streak.
Ziegler and the A's invite you to McAfee Coliseum on
August 29 to celebrate the new record with a pre-game
ceremony before the A's host the Twins. In honor of
the 101 years that the previous record stood,
Plaza Outfield and Plaza Reserved tickets to the game
will available for just $1.01 starting at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.

The link wasn't working when I tried it. The coupon code is ZIGGY. I think $1.01 might be too much for this team sometimes, but ZIGGY deserves it.

HELMET: Sandurz, what's going on?
SANDURZ: It's Mega Maid. She's gone from suck to
blow!
Why on earth?
Why would they combine two promotions on the same night? The 29th is Jack Cust bobblehead night. Now, I realize that bobbleheads aren’t as popular as they once were, but they certainly do draw long lines of people much earlier than usual. Either the tickets for the 29th weren’t selling well enough, or they have their heads up their asses once again and can’t understand that it would make much more sense to offer the $1.01 tickets for a different game. What am I missing here? Where is Andy Dolich when we need him? (I know, SF 49ers.) When are the A’s gonna get a real marketing department?
no kidding
i will not be missing out on a cust bobblehead, so i’m gonna have to go even earlier.
who wants to skip work and tailgate?
"If you hit .440 with 20 bombs, you don't have to do s---. You don't have to bring a glove to practice, just hit and leave whenever you want. You can bring a 40 and smoke a cigarette and call me from the parking lot asking me what time the game is, and I'll tell you. You can even say 'F--- you, Steve!' Actually, don't say that, that wouldn't be very nice." -Steve Friend, Head Coach, Chabot College Gladiators Baseball
I'm just glad they captured the bobblehead in Cust's most natural position.

They've been doing this with the discounts for the number of hits as well
Those have always happened for jersey giveaways.
I thought the same thing, but
Then I thought, maybe they’ve sold most of the cheap tickets for that night, given that so many people come just for the bobblehead, and they’re selling off the remainder of the cheap tickets. This way they can say they had a promotion and sold it out. I already had two tickets for that night, but I bought 6 more so I could bring more people whose friendship to me I value at at least $1.01 (plus shipping & handling.)
Silly question perhaps...
But will we be made to enter through a special gate (like they do for the all you can eat seats) that will in some way limit the number of bobbleheads available to the purchasers of the 1.01 tix?

Thanks for posting this!
Not only did I get two tickets for $7, I found an old A’s gift card in my wallet and put it on that. Can’t believe this is just my second game at the Coliseum this year.
Complete with a voice chip ala Bill King, except it's Korach's:
“Ring him up strike three looking down the middle!”
