Awful article in La Verdad about Carlos Gonzalez
La verdad is one of the local newspaper in my city, it was the one with the article that was posted here about the Marabino patrolcraft.
Well the thing is that the author said, that the A's might trade Gonzalez for either pitching, because they need to catch up with the Angels, or for Holliday.
Doesn't this guy know that the A's have the best starting ERA in the major leagues. Also that Holliday is just an average hitter outside of Coors, and the Coliseum is a pitcher's park in a league that has better pitching?
Awful sportswriting is a worldwide thing.

I detect an English Major
After throwing his 100th and final pitch for a ball, walking the bases loaded with a one out in the sixth inning and his A’s nursing a one-run lead Monday night, Dana Eveland walked off the mound to polite, tepid applause from the home crowd.

"Polite, tepid applause" sounds like about the right reaction to his performance last night
Not terrible, not boo-worthy, but distinctly mediocre.

I'm told that, on his next start, he'll be allowed to pitch with his eyes open.

If by pitching he means Felix Hernandez, I'd be in favor
Other than that…
