NOW Ziggy adds his name to the A's record books

After a newspaper/media error from a few days ago was corrected, this can now be posted with the figures 100% accurate.

Coming into tonight's game, Brad Ziegler had thrown 16 consecutive scoreless innings. The record by an Oakland pitcher to begin his career had been held by Steve Chitren, who started his with a stretch of 16 1/3 innings in September of 1990.

With tonight's performance, Ziggy has passed Chitren and put himself into the Oakland record book. Of course, he also helped bail Eveland out of a big jam. Let's see how much longer he can take it. 16 2/3 innings and counting.

If you add up what he's done at Triple-A and with the A's this season, Ziggy’s ERA is around 0.20 and his WHIP around 0.75 in a combined total of 42 innings (1 ER).

Not bad for a guy who was starting and throwing overhand just a couple years ago.

Added: Make that 18 innings and counting.

Thanks for the autograph, Ziggy

Brad was cool enough to sign the ball I brought to the game on Sunday, along with Daric Barton – thanks for the sig, Zig. Congrats on making the record books, and here’s to continued success in the future!

I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal

BFF?

Hey Cindi,
Have you ever met Mindi, the girl who was recapping the game with Shooty tonight?
She’s almost copying your name!

I know!!!!

I would NEVER use the word “skank” so I can’t really say much about Mindi. She also dots the wrong “i” with a heart but unlike her hair, that’s not a crime.
