How Long for Mark Ellis?

First post here...

And probably not a very good one. but I just bought tickets to the game on july 30th in hopes of seeing Mark Ellis, but now I hear he was scratched from the lineup and even his part in the A's commercials being cut. He really is my favorite player, and I'd like to see him before he gets traded. Any thoughts about his chances of being around on the 30th? or should I go to an earlier game?

Go A's!

The shoulder problem is a concern

Makes it a little more difficult to get value for him. Sad, because we really could have gotten something for him.

Favorite player, though? That’s interesting. Why?

He's my favorite player too.

He’s saved many runs with that glove over the years and since this is pitching dependent team that has meant that Ellis is money for us. I’ll miss him when he goes.

i doubt its a huge deal

seems like he was a last minute scratch for tonight. also, i highly doubt we trade ellis. he’s far more valuable to us than most teams, who probably want a 2B hitting better. while i do see the possibility of street getting traded (high value), i just don’t see anybody giving us a fair deal for ellis. plus, there’s something to be said about keeping some veterans around a young team. my bet is ellis and duke will be two of the main sages of the team over the next few years. maybe big hurt for another year as well.

commercials being cut???

Nah, the A’s wouldn’t be that ahead of the game. They still have Travis Buck in their commercials, and who knows where the heck he is….Rich Harden was in a couple of their radio ads at least a week after he was traded….nah, they buy airtime way far in advance, if Elly isn’t in the ads, it’s only because they are cycling in the Root Beer Float ads for next week’s game.

sorry...

not those commercials. the comcast sportsnet commercials where it says, “Mark Ellis and the A’s” then say the opposing team. They cut the first part off, so you just see the opposing team. maybe it was an accident, but it happened twice.

Maybe it's your cable system,

because I saw that commercial twice, with Mark in the beginning of it both times.

Gold Glove?

Given that he has more recognition for his defensive skills, is there a chance for him to maybe get the gold glove? I know Polanco is the reigning award winner, but could he pull if off despite the his horrible hitting this season? Obviously being traded would eliminate any chance of this.

There's a reason Beane got Patterson and Cardenas

Unless Ellis needs to go on the DL, I expect him gone by the deadline.

You prefer a magic trick, instead? Watch me make this pencil disappear.

Epatt looked good

for the R’cats on Sunday.
Also keep in mind that Ariz lost Hudson to an injury and just traded his backup to the Nationals for a relief pitcher, so they could come calling. Do they have anyone left on the farm that’s worth getting??

Mark Ellis...

is my favourite player, too. I REALLY hope he isn’t traded. I’ve taken all the trades well but that one would be the one that gets to me for sure :(
