Oakland A's Closers
I am trying to remember the name of an excellent Oakland A's closer. He is the best they had after Eckersley. I don't think they had him for more than a year or two. Can anyone remember who I am thinking about? He was a good looking all-American type. NO...it was not Isringhausen! Let me know if you have any ideas. By the way, Street is terrible. They need to get rid of him...and soon! He was good as a rookie, but he has definitely lost his good stuff. Thanks.

Billy Taylor....?
Wasn’t he the next decent one after Eck?
Most ordinary thiazides are renovasoconstrictors
Foulke was pretty good when he closed here before
43/48 in saves (89.6%).
Even if he coughed it up in the ALDS.

Koch did save 44 of 50 his year here, 88%

Foulke, Koch and Izzy were all good closers for the A's...
I don’t care what the peripherals say… they were all better than Street. Unload Huston now, Billy, while you can still got something resembling a decent return for him. Devine is better, anyway.

To be fair, Street has been a really good pitcher for teh A's
just not for the past month
When you have a chance to get a guy like Sean Gallagher, you take it!

whatever he had...
he lost. And, it hasn’t been in just the last month.

It must have been Izzy
He was impressive in his prime

He said it wasn't Izzy. I think he must be talking about Taylor.

I believe it was Caudil?
Not sure if I spell the name properly but we got him from Seattle during the Dave Kingman era!
He was right hand pitcher and had a very good fastball!
Of course no one like Rollie though I think Eck was superb!
I think he edited it to say that
or I am completely blind.

Arthur Rhodes anyone?
We've never been in that position. We wouldn't know how to operate, I mean, do we get him a corsage?-Billy Beane on signing a high profile FA
No, he said he was excellent

Dave Beard.
I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal
