Yes, it's still going. 14th inning. Still 3-3.
To think it could've easily been over many times already if Dioner Navarro would've dumped that piano from his back.

My guess is that the result of this
will be that the All-Star Break will be extended to 4 days (which 22 of the 30 teams have anyway this year) and that the All-Star Game will be played on the third day, Wednesday, rather than Tuesday. Thus ensuring that all pitchers will have had at least two days off before the game.
They’re probably committed to hotel arrangements for 2009 already, but it could most likely be managed by 2010.

Heh, that was Zook positioning by McCann
Martin would’ve had that plate blocked off

That throw was pretty far off line.

It was a little on the 1st base side
but morneau was slow enough that waiting another bounce probably would have him beat and require less of a reach with the tag

Damn really wanted to see a Bud presser after another tie but atleast AL won.

If the NL won I’d say Cook, but since the AL won I dunno. Prob Michael Young since he ended the game.

Is this really necessary? Just tell us the MVP and put us out of our misery.

Uggla's temporary wiki page said
“Uggla attended the University of Memphis. He is married to Tara, and they have two children: a son, Jackson (born 2006-03-30), and a daughter (born 2008-06-05). Dan appeared in his first All-Star game in 2008(Yankee Stadium). He committed two back to back errors in the bottom of the 10th inning in the 2008 All Star game, losing the game, ruining his career, and destroying the dreams of his father.”

That is hilarious
“Uggla also committed two consecutive errors on playable balls in the 10th inning that appeared to end the National League’s hopes of victory, but the errors did not result in a run. He committed a third error in the bottom of the 13th, earning him the record for most errors in an All Star Game. In his three at bats, he struck out twice and hit into a double play. He vomitted in the dugout during the 15th inning after striking out again.”

If Luton were the AL in the past twelve all-star games,
they’d have a chance at staving off relegation next season!
(Sorry, had to. Noone will get it either.)

What with their crazy 30 point deduction and all. I'm not sure why they don't
just shut up shop for a year and save on wages.

hire conference-level players, and part-time it.
i completely agree.

"When we come back..."
(after even more commercials) “we will present the MVP award to the most valuable player of this All-Star game.” Funny, I thought the MVP award went to the least valuable player…

I still don’t get why they give the MVP a car. I think they can afford their own car. They should donate it to a charity or give it away to a fan or something.

I'm sure the players do.

I think they should give the MVP...
a million dollars. Think about the incentive to excell. I mean the winner of the World Series of Poker won $8.25 million last year.
A small price to play to motivate our All Stars.

The buy in is north of $10K though
$8.25M is a fairly small portion of the buy-ins. I’ve heard they’re considering making the buy in a lot bigger to discourage the thousands of amateurs who descend on it every year these days.

AS Game
did anyone record the entire game?
by sf drift king on Jul 15, 2008 10:52 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I did.
I had to record Cheers, Friends (2x), Seinfeld and most of the 10:00 news to catch all the extra innings.
