Open Thread: Game 92 - A's vs. Mariners (cont)
Well, we have a pitchers' duel in this afternoon's game, as Smith has held the Mariners scoreless through six innings. The A's are coming to bat in the bottom of the sixth, trying to get on the board.
Oh, and in the awful news of the day, Sweeney, R was hurt on a head-first slide. It looks like more DL time for one of our best hitters.

IBB was the right move
Beltran is hitting about .500 vs the A’s, and if anyone could get a fly ball, it was Beltre (and probably, a HR with Casilla providing the power).
Vidro was a good DP candidate. He almost “pulled it off”. Just a little too far from LS.
