Open Thread: Game 92 - A's vs. Mariners (cont)

Well, we have a pitchers' duel in this afternoon's game, as Smith has held the Mariners scoreless through six innings. The A's are coming to bat in the bottom of the sixth, trying to get on the board.

Oh, and in the awful news of the day, Sweeney, R was hurt on a head-first slide. It looks like more DL time for one of our best hitters.

The easy answer is nowhere but

If DFA was to be trade where could/would the A’s be looking to send him?

We are getting shut out by...

R.A. Dickey. I can just hear Fosse now: “You just have to tip your cap to the guy.”

What about Barry?
"Barry who?" Forst said, and I felt like I was in the middle of a knock-knock joke.

Beltran is hitting about .500 vs the A’s, and if anyone could get a fly ball, it was Beltre (and probably, a HR with Casilla providing the power).

I haven't listened to Ken much this year.

He takes you on such an emotional ride that you don’t experience with television and Kuiper/Fosse.

Korach rules

Radio guys are almost always better than TV guys.

Sometimes even the same guy is better on radio than on TV. TV makes you stupid.

There is a quote about him from when he was playing

I’m paraphrasing, but it was something like:

“He doesn’t have any respect for the well being of his own body when he plays. Why should he care about yours?”

Dude was just mean on the field. Nicest guy ever off the field though.

stat of the day

Since June 22, Cust’s AVG is down .022 points.

In the same time period, Ellis’s is down .018 points.

They’re both out-machines who don’t deserve regular playing time!!!

Cust should be hitting 6th at best

But then we have no hitters that should be hitting 3rd, 4th or 5th
