Open Thread: Game 92 - A's vs. Mariners (cont)
Well, we have a pitchers' duel in this afternoon's game, as Smith has held the Mariners scoreless through six innings. The A's are coming to bat in the bottom of the sixth, trying to get on the board.
Oh, and in the awful news of the day, Sweeney, R was hurt on a head-first slide. It looks like more DL time for one of our best hitters.

The easy answer is nowhere but
If DFA was to be trade where could/would the A’s be looking to send him?
We are getting shut out by...
R.A. Dickey. I can just hear Fosse now: “You just have to tip your cap to the guy.”
What about Barry?

Those 3 plus Blanton
should be worth the equivalent of a bag of soggy french fires
Embree and Foulke
are done. They’re past any redemption and could easily just go away. The other two…I’m not so sure of that. Hannahan, although he’s 28, hasn’t played even a full season yet. Granted, he will probably not even be more than a journeyman, but in fairness, that was supposed to be his role on this team—the Scutaro all-purpose infielder (with scrubbing bubbles!). Blanton…Joe may just need to come in to camp in better shape next year. He’s got skills, he’s not worthless.
