Angels totally have the pitching talent

to punish our offense

If we take pitches, they locate well enough for 1st pitch strikes and get Ks without getting deep into counts.
If we swing at 1st pitches, we tend to get into fast outs, keeping their pitch count low.

Overall, a bad combination for us.

Someone posted this on ESPN board and I think it has some merit

The A’s young hitters either regress or don’t develop further. This organization needs to alter their hitting strategy. They take way too many hittable pitches, putting too much pressure on the hitters.

When you have a team

without any really good hitters, it’s generally hard to string together 5 runs in two innings.
