Open Thread: Game 60 - A's vs. Tigers (cont)
After the A's jumped out to a 3-0 lead, courtesy of Crosby's 20th double of the season, Duke's great outing turned scary as he melted down in the 6th, but recovered with a huge DP to send the game into the bottom of the 6th.
A's clinging to a 3-2 lead.

Hopefully the New Thread Mojo means

That would be great

I agree. I posted on open thread 1 that
he should start ever 5th game or so. He is still a young catcher two and is decent. Suzuki is not so much better than him as to prevent Bowen from ever playing

but its not really fair to alot of the young left handed hitters. Barton, Gonzales and Jack H. dont look comfortable up there at all. Gonzales just swings at anything close against Left handers.

Good K
Though it doesn’t excuse the fact he’s still in there.
They should've pulled him during the at bat?
Because he wasn’t that bad in the inning. He had one guy struck out, but Hernandez called it a ball. Next pitch was a single.

But he doesn’t. And I think Davis is actually more valuable because of his defense (especially with Cust playing the OF). And I think every other OF option is more worthy of the roster spot.

Isn't this where we're supposed to have...
...a long, drag-out argument about “regression to the mean” really means?

They'd score more runs than 9 Hattebergs or Custs

Is that like nine Hattebergs....
....except they all talk about the team in the third person?

Can we keep ‘em? Pleaaaaase?
I’ll walk ‘em and feed ‘em and everything…

Kiko? Why?
Isn’t this situation the REASON Braden is on the roster?

Calero also needs some work, doesn't he?
Especially if he’s rusty. Might as well do it up 8.
I know you don’t like him, but if he can still give the team something useful then I think even you would like that.

Actually, I consider Kiko to be more valuable than Braden
And also more fragile (so I want to limit his innings for that reason, too).
It probably doesn’t matter with the off day tomorrow, but I’d rather know Calero is available than Braden, so use Braden in the blowout.

I wonder if there’s some virtual space….a web log, if you will…where like-minded folk who also liek the A’s might be able to enjoy each other’s cyber-company?
