Dodgers beat Angels 1-0, get no hit!?
In one of the more bizzare occurances this year, the LA Dodgers defeated the Angels 1-0, winning the game on a Sac Fly. The thing is, the Angels no hit the Dodgers through 8 innings on the backs of Jared Weaver (6 IP) and Jose Arredondo (2 IP).
Freaky.
This comes on the same night that we lose to the Giants 1-0 despite 2 hitting them.

Chad Billingsley shut out the Angels for seven innings as the Dodgers won 1-0 despite getting no-hit on Saturday night.
Only in Los Angeles. The Dodgers manufactured a run in the fifth after Matt Kemp's dribbler was mishandled by Jered Weaver. Kemp stole second and went to third after Jeff Mathis threw the ball into center field. He then scored on a sac fly from Blake DeWitt. Jonathan Broxton and Takashi Saito finished up the five-hitter for the Dodgers. Billingsley has won three in a row and is 7-7 with a 3.38 ERA.

I'm impressed - someone hit a sacrifice fly?
Who knew this was possible?

I don't like to brag, but
I have been in the papers twice in the last month. I’m not as famous as Bradley’s Hamstrings or Crosby’s Back. Yet.

Does the Community Guideline against political comments
apply to avatars?
Seems to me like it violates the spirit, if not the letter, of the CG.

Good question
I think in the past “sig lines” and such have ultimately been regarded as falling under the same umbrella as comments. But it’s an interesting question – same as would be a respectful user who only commented about baseball whose user name was “Bush sucks” or “Vote McCain”.

All the Anti-Obama ads on here
And people have a problem with a piece of art? Okay.

Anti-Obama? I thought the ad was just asking, politely,
if he was finished – why, has McCain not wrapped up the election yet?
{snortle}
The point being that it’s such a ridiculous ad, no matter what your political leanings may be.

Just curious
Does profile information fall under the umbrella, too?
Unlike siglines, username and avatar, it never appears on the main blog and you only see it if you go looking for it.
(Personally, I would not mind political stuff in someone’s profile information, and I know I’m one of the most hard-ass about enforcing the political ban on AN.)

My two cents would be that anything,
like profile info, that you have to search out to see, should be ok to write whatever you want. (Other than hate speech, etc.)

Thanks
As for the ads, see the sentence in the Community Guidelines. Blez has made it crystal clear that he considers ads and content separate. (Personally, I don’t like the ads either, but it’s his call.)

Hawkins > Weaver
In 1990 Andy Hawkins of the Yanks no-hit the White Sox and lost 4-0...infield error, 2 walks, and back-to-back brutal outfield errors.
