with the first pick in the draft

I take Derrick Rose. Zonis, you are now on the clock.

Michael Beasley..

Screw the BS reports about being immature…he is 19

He's also going to try to play PF at 6'7"

That’s going to be a problem.

it will be on D....

But no 4 can guard him either…...The only concern is that he is a 3/4 tweener….the skill on offense is better than anyone in this draft though. He will need to be coerced and taught to play D though.

Bring back Hammer.

What do you mean by "skill on offense" exactly?

Because Derrick Rose is going to be a Top 3 point guard in the NBA within, what, 2 years? 3 if there’s some sort of unexpected slowed development?

About the only thing Rose can’t do all that well right now is shoot a jumper, and Jason Kidd has made a hall of fame career out of not being able to shoot.

I mean the moves/footwork/ball skill he has on O

He is extremely skilled with the ball and his feet around the hoop and get get a shot pretty much whenever he wants.

Rose is a stud, I just consider him more of a playmaker than a guy who is going to go and get you 30 a night like I think Beasley can and will soon enough.

That being said….I sure as hell would go Rose #1 if I am Chicago.

Bring back Hammer.

by OaktownPower on Jun 26, 2008 2:18 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Ok, I totally agree

Your first comment was just a little vague and I wasn’t sure what you meant.

Rose isn’t going to be a bigtime scorer, but I actually consider that a good thing. He’s a true point guard, not one of the hybrid scoring point guards that are all over the place. Rose is going to make Luol Deng a really, really good player.

John Paxson has a ton of work to do after screwing up the past 2 seasons. If he does anything other than take Rose he should be fired on the spot (but won’t be).

Yea, it was.....My bad.

I totally agree on Rose….I love his game and the way he handles himself on the court. I like Deng a lot and you’re right…..he’s going to be magically much better next year.

Actually, I can use whatever reasoning I want.

That’s how the interwebz work.

OJ is his first and middle initials. Coco is a nickname because Covelli is a weird first name.

CBS Sportline had Bowen for a homer and then took it back and made it a double. What happened? Sportline glitch? Bad call?

embree has pitched much better than foulke so far this season.

by rebus on Jun 26, 2008 2:31 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

When did this happen?

Embree has a 3.98 ERA, Foulke has a 3.28 ERA.

http://bocropleasestopswingingatbadpitches.blogspot.com/

by thejd44 on Jun 26, 2008 2:33 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Yes, but it's a very "clutch" 3.98

President and CEO of the Ryan Sweeney Apologists Consortium

by Joey C. on Jun 26, 2008 2:34 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Also

They both has 2 losses, Embree has blown 3 saves to Foulke’s 0, they have an identical WHIP, and DERA for Foulke is 3.95 and it’s 4.61 for Embree.

Any way you slice it, Foulke’s been better. The only thing I couldn’t find was inherited runners information, so unless Foulke is allowing a lot more of those guys to score, he’s simply been quite a bit better this year.
