A few more runs in some of his appearances and he might have a better record
He has been up and down
with the highlight being the 10 K’s against texas but other than that this is what he has done most of the year

Team needs to add another hitter
The GM has to try and improve the offense. They have to send a message to the hitters young or not that the majors is about production
Who should we get? I only see LF as an option and then what to do with Cust??
DH him for a while but Chavy is gonna be taking his place on occasion. Once/if Frank returns than you really have a dilemma.

True, but there are other people on the team to consider
Suzuki and R. Sweeney are two young players who would benefit from being on a winning team. Cust, Crosby aren’t ancient. The team needs to think about all of the guys and do their best to build a winner.
Also, there are young pitchers who can only be helped by being in a pennant race.
Last I checked, this team is 8 games over .500
Also, they’re only 4.5 games out of first place.
I am reasonably sure that those two figures meet both your “winning team” and “pennant race” criteria.
Not to mention the fact that CarGo really looks like a CF'er
and Suzuki ain’t going nowhere. I think LF is our best option for an upgrade.

The team would be even better with some decent offense production
The Pitching staff has kept us in the race so far.
If we had a losing record then I might say fine lets play all the rookies and phone it in. However, any team in the pennant race with the lack of production from some of the guys would be looking for some upgrades
7th in the AL in runs scored.
Not horrible, not fantastic. Also without Thomas for a good amount of time.

I think it was smart to use Casilla,
