Whatever happened to the pitching-dominant league?
This Marlins teams reminds me of our 1999 team.

Or their 2003 team. They swept us when they were still a sub-.500 team.

That was a different sort of team
This one is young and is geared up to kill the ball.

If the Marlins win the WS, there's a silver lining
We can have a Marlins Players rummage sale.

Ellis walk-off...
...I feel it.
You can't sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You've got to throw the ball over the goddamn plate and give the other man his chance. That's why baseball is the greatest game of them all. ~Earl Weaver

Sweeney might extend his hitting streak
I think that was what Street was after. Extra innings, to get Sweeney a final AB.

I was in such a good mood. Took off early on a beautiful
Friday afternoon with perfect weather. Grilled out with some friends and went to see The Love Guru. Came here and saw us lead, then lose the lead, then regain the lead only to lose it again. What a long, short night!

It was funny only because I love Mike Myers. He is one of three people
that I look at and start laughing- John Belushi, Mike Myers, Will Ferrell and Steve Martin. It will get better seeing it several times.

You hate to go extras against a team
that scores so easily. On the other hand, you love to think that worst case scenario is sending up a bunch of lefties to face Kevin Gregg.

There are mosquitoes in my room
I was given to understand there would be no mosquitoes on this side of the Hayward Fault. Unfair!

Now there's an idea
And as soon as I typed “this side of the Hayward Fault” I realized I didn’t know which side of it I was on since my move. So I consulted the ABAG maps—and in fact I am on the east side of the fault by about a block.
