For the next 3-4 weeks we will not have Thomas or Mike Sweeney but there will be a DH in the line-up. I think the A's have to add another hitter to the mix. Our options at DH (yes, Cust could go to Dh but that still leaves a hole in outfield) are downright scarry (Emil Brown and Hannahan). I think Hannahan needs to stay on the club as he is a great utilityman. However, we are giving up too much offense by starting them. Maybe we can work a small deal for a veteran or minor leaguer from another squad and give them a shot for a month or so until Fran gets back.

Sort of like Walker from last year. Or perhaps there is another player in the minors who is worth a shot. We have 8 pretty good players in the line-up. When Thomas and Sweeney get back then we have 10. 

I think now is the time to add someone anyone to play the DH role until Frank gets back.
