When will the A's win series?
On May 1st, the A's were tied with the Angels for first place in the division, after a 4-game series split with them. Since then, however, the A's have lost 9 of their last 12 series. They swept Baltimore, Boston and Detroit, but never took 2 out of 3 for a series win during that stretch.
Many of these losses were by 2 runs or less, and with the exception of a 12-0 blowout by Toronto on May 29, all losses were by 4 runs or less. They had a chance to win those series, but somehow, they just seemed incapable of winning close games on a regular basis. Whether it's sloppy defense, or poor base-running, or lack of hitting with RISP.
Let's hope that A's improve on those areas, and start winning series.

Its the move that makes most sense in that this is the only way we don’t lose some one (Davis or Brown)
Its not a sprint
We can’t control the Halos except head-to-head, but we can also win the wild card and beat em in the playoffs if necessary.
The A’s and Angels both have great pitching.
LA-Anaheim has an experienced, proven and great baseball manager. Geren is still learning but seems to have things under control. We are on the rise and deep with future stars on our 40 man roster, the Angels have a great basic roster but K-Rod , Vlad aand others re at an age when injuries spring up and their career seasons are BEHIND them. Still hard not to respect the Angels in 2008, they are incredibly good.
We are on the rise, we have not yet accomplished what we are capable of. We are over .500 in mid June. It is ALL GOOD in Oakland, just ask Seattle or Detroit fans.
One thing the Angels have done better than the A's
besides defense, is to win close games. Since May 1, they gained 5 games on the A’s because they were able to win close games. Amazing how many 1-run and 2-run games they have won this season.
You know the games do all count the same, right?
They don’t count series wins at the end of the season.

Good point...
I wonder if this thread would exist if we had won 9 of our last 12 series’ but were swept in the three losses. We’d have the exact same record.

Not the exact same record.
We’d have won one more game, an even 18-18 record, as opposed to 17-19. (In one of the 9 series we lost, we were swept.
I think we will start winning more series once Thomas gets back
That being said I think we can take the Giants and Diamondbacks.
GO A’s
I'm not confident for the AZ series
We’ll probably face both Haren and Webb. But we do avoid Lincecum in the SF series.
Oh, this is baseball where anything can happen in a single game? Well, one thing is for sure, the A’s need to get hot.

Well, good thing they're going to Arizona
