2008 Draft Tracker-Who has signed?
I thought we could use a place for people to post when we confirmed when a player is signed. Any info on where they are being assigned would be helpful as well. I'm not positive on how updated this site is with the signings so we will have to see. If someone can suggest a better one by all means post it.

So far I know our 8th round selection Jeremy Barfield has signed.

Wow
That was quick.
Speaking of which, everyone’s favorite Carthaginian, Asdrubal, just got sent down and big brother Josh called back up.
For better or for worse, only one A’s draftee (Jemile Weeks) made it to Omaha. Petey Paramore was eliminated last night, though not before sparking a last-ditch rally that almost turned into an amazing comeback. Arizona and Wichita State went out, taking 2 A’s selections each with them, on Sunday.

Zero
He’s a draft-eligible sophomore. He has a lot of leverage.

I'm glad none of our new pitchers are still in it ...
Would have liked to have had the chance to see Petey play, though …

My impressions:
Defense: Don’t (specifically) remember him blocking any balls. Average arm, good accuracy. I don’t know if he was calling the pitches, but if he was, he knew what he was doing.
Offense: Metal-bat power from the left side, but probably won’t translate that well. Not great at squaring balls up. Great strike zone judgment (natch). Didn’t see him hit right-handed. Moved like a World War I tank, but apparently he had some kind of quad injury that was slowing him down.
Definitely the leader of the team, really seemed to keep them in it and set the tone for the rally in the ninth. They were down 7 but scored 4 and loaded the bases before the last guy flied out to end the game. So I guess that would be “great makeup” in scouting lingo. Seems like a good pick for a third-rounder.

careful, he's older than advertised

Good Catch...
He’s the “Santiago Casilla” of the draft.
His real name must be Davide Swimmher and he’s 36, not 23.

Tyson Ross told Notes From The Nat he's signing.
So notch up a 2nd rounder.

that was sort of a given

Not that it really has much value
But I’m pretty sure Bobby Crocker isn’t going to sign. Hes a buddy of my buddy. I know huge news the A’s 30th ish rounder doesn’t sign.

26th round pick? Not likely...
I suppose stranger things (like Mike Piazza) have happened, but I’m assuming he was drafted pretty much strictly as a favor to his bro’.

BB would deny it ... but it wouldn't surprise me if they figured he offered additional value, given the marketing angle
in the unlikely event that he does make the bigs.
