MLB extra innings...lack of a's games???
i am a die hard A's fan in NY....i use MLB extra innings to watch as many games as I can but lately the A's have been getting the shaft.....anyone else notice this?
It has been two games in a row that I cant watch the game....ive never really seen that with any other team in the past 2 years that I have been using this service
I mean i can always go back to using MLB.com services but after years of watching games that way I really dont want to go back
anyone else seeing the same problem?

Actually been better this year
I have signed up for Extra Innings the past few years and have been frustrated at times over the lack of games.
This year, however, it seems like almost every A’s game has been on E.I….until this week (I never liked when they were not on EI the day before or after an off day…and this week they both games before the off day).
And you are usually not going to get the Sat afternoon games due to the Fox deal.
All in all, I can’t really complain.

It's been slightly better this year
because th EI package is carrying feeds from both teams’ stations. So if the Bay Area doesn’t televise the game, then the other team usually does. The problem is (and has been) when the A’s play a team like the Blue Jays, Rays, or other team with a TV deal as bad as the A’s, then no team has TV for the game on the larger regional TV network (as opposed to “Action 36, Cable 6”), which is what has happened the last two days.
My criticism is that for some reason, EI televises the Yankees “local” channel – “MY9” or whatever it is – it televises the Rangers “local” channel, the Twins “local” channel, and other ‘local” channels but in the four years I’ve had the EI package it has never picked up the “Action 36” channel – and I think that is the problem.

Yep.
The problem is (and has been) when the A’s play a team like the Blue Jays, Rays, or other team with a TV deal as bad as the A’s, then no team has TV for the game on the larger regional TV network (as opposed to "Action 36, Cable 6"), which is what has happened the last two days.
We’re just screwed when we play a team with just as bad of a regional network as the A’s. I was able to watch Monday’s game, but yesterday’s was on local stations only in Oakland and Tampa, so I was SOL. Of course, after reading about how the game turned out, in hindsight maybe it saved my blood pressure.
Some read stats. Others actually watch the game.

That's because....
...the local broadcasts for the teams that you mention are picked up by the RSN’s in the areas that are out of the broadcast area.
For instance: Rangers games that are on locally are picked up by FSN Southwest outside of the Dallas area, but still within the FSN Southwest region. The A’s have actually cobbled together an over the air channel network so this doesn’t happen.
EI only picks up games that are on RSNs. Why? I have no idea.

Only noticed the past couple of days
I was just noticing this during the last 2 days. Until now, I have been happy that almost all of the games have been available when I could watch them on my Slingbox.

It was just these last to games
This year has been the best year ever. They actually have both team broadcasts some of the time.
When small market plays against small market it gets tought. Of course there are always ways to watch games.
