I can tell you they haven’t been discontinued. They’re more dependent on louismg having free time to produce them.

I slacked on ANtics.

I had hoped to do them on a semi-regular basis (every 2 weeks?) this year, and kept moving the start date out on the first one. In previous years, they started in Spring Training, and this year, I aimed for starting on Opening Day, especially as the A’s had so many new players and the old ones had left, giving me fewer photos to work with from the archives.

So… now here we are, it’s almost June, and we haven’t done any.

It is an element of making them a priority, and I haven’t done it.

Part of that comes from an unexpected acceleration of attention to my own blog (not sports focused) which has been more demanding over time. Since January, traffic there is up about 10x year over year, and is constantly seeing some high-level engagement.

So … why show this? Only to show that while in 2005 and 2006, I could be A’s centric, there’s a strong magnet pulling me toward tech, and I haven’t taken time out to get ANtics going again. Once I start going again, then they’ll get to be expected on a regular basis, and what’s fun could then seem like work. :-)

So… I’ll try. I had thought nobody noticed, in which case, we would keep them on mute.

I just figured that with your wifey so far along that family concerns were keeping you too distracted to write any new strips!
