Brown Bursts, DiNardo called up
Athletics placed RHP Andrew Brown on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 14, following an emergency appendectomy.
Brown will probably need about three weeks off. He has a 2.45 ERA on the season, so this is a big loss, especially on the heels of Santiago Casilla's injury. Joey Devine will begin getting more work in close games.-Rotoworld
Lenny DiNardo got the call up, though I think I'd have prefered the A's to finally call up Ziggy, who has been doing awesome in Triple A, as opposed to DiNardo who is doing pretty bad down in AAA thus far.
Like Rotoworld said, this is a huge hit to the bullpen. We've lost our best two relievers back to back, and with the offense producing like the numbers said they should have, this will be doubly hard on us.
What this should mean is that we will be seeing Embree and Devine a lot more often now. It also means that Geren might actually remember to use Gaudin more often rather than treating him like the 7th member of the pen.
But probably the worst thing is that we now have two end bench men, who do not really inspire much confidence in A's fans.

Can't really call up Ziggy
Not unless you dump someone off the 40 man roster, which they’re going to have to do to get Chavy & possibly Calero someday. It’s going to be tough to drop someone as it is, but finding another 1 or 2 guys to dump, who would you want to dump?

Meyer, while i agree on, Beane might not be ready to give up on.
Fiorentino I’m guessing is injured, but his age probably makes him expendable even if someone decides to grab him
Gray, honestly, I’m actually kind of wondering why he even got added to the 40 man in the first place
2 should be enough for now
So… yeah, with that out of the way, why not give Ziggy a shot.

I'm now convinced Beane has made a pact with the Devil, 'cos the baseball
gods hate the crap out of us.

only for the A's medical team
They’ve been having a lot of trouble ever since they learned that leeches do not, infact, cure broken bones as previously thought.

I've had suspected apendicitis twice
still have it. Course that was years before ultrasounds / mri / etc.
By now, they should be able to do something.
