I added Ryan Ludwick (STL) this week. Today he went 3/3 with an HR, single, and double. Sweet.

Cahill crushed in Stockton today. 5 IP 8 ER.
Yeesh, first Anderson, now him.
Meanwhile Doolittle has upped his average to .370
"We were s--, pathetic," Guillen growled early in spring training. "We hit too many home runs."
That outing was a lot better than it looks from the 8 runs
Nothing whatsoever to worry about with Cahill.
The A's colors are green and gold.
Crappy defense, crappy umpiring, bad lighting
and young players—lots of weird things can happen in A ball.

he doesnt realize the batter has called time, goes to throw, barely catches himself
I'd actually let Barton hit
even if Howell comes in – Sweeney’s our last available position player, and Barton is (by nature) a high OBP guy.

That was the DH spot,

I do agree - one thing I've liked about Geren
is that he’s willing to worry about now instead of hypotheticals later. But to me, this was a waste of M. Sweeney anyway. I’d rather just hope Bowen gets into one and still have Sweeney available.

It's against my religion
to leave before the last out. Can’t do it. Will go to hell, or my team will have to lose. kinda the same thing.
I've come to the conclusion that the two most important things in life are good friends and a good bullpen.
The one and only time I left the Coliseum early
Olmedo Saenz hit a walk-off while I was in the parking lot.

so we're members of the same religion?

Hey remember that one time we thought Suzuki
would fail, but then hit three run homerun instead. It would be a good time to prove us wrong again.

So close..
"We were s--, pathetic," Guillen growled early in spring training. "We hit too many home runs."
I'm ready for Landon Powell.
That, or Bowen to get 2 or 3 games a week. Suzuki is looking like absolute shit.
All right, now I can go to sleep
I have movers coming at 9 AM….

That was fun.
I love wild-and-woolly games that keep you in suspense till the very end.
(Of course it’s even more fun if you win, but still….)

Damn! Zooks looked baffled.
Nice hit by Barton. A little too short. Oh well. Tough loss. Good night.

That's where we needed a pinch-hitter
to battle Percival…not a 2-for-40 hitter!

That seemes like Kurt's 8,000 pop up or foul out of the season
Oh well tomorrow is another day
Kurt Suzuki has looked like garbage at the plate for the last two weeks
he should get rid of the forty pound bat..
he falls over with every swing.

I'm sorry, that was not a fun game. How many opportunities can the A's f'ing blow before they loose a ball game?
The A’s don’t deserve to make any run for the playoffs looking like this. What a disgrace. I hope Beane and Geren can spark some life in this team.
OTOH
How many opportunities can you create for yourself? I mean, the defense/pitching really keeping us in the game.

So, I wasn't here
but was it gamethread chaos when Frank hit TWO bombs?

not as much as you'd think
I think most of us just shocked… and I was in the kitchen making tater tots to comfort myself after the A’s blew the lead.

Shooty Babbit makes me want to gouge my eyes and ears out with a sharp pointy object.
It’s hard to imagine, but he’s like a shitty version of Joe Morgan.
OK slam away at my optimism
but I’m EXCITED that if my nine have to lose, that the boys are losing on dumb mistakes like baserunning. That’s Sooooo fixable! Take away the stupid mistakes and the A’s defense makes them contenders even with weak bats. Wake up Cust and Thomas’ bats… and… well, lots of reasons for optimism in MAY.

I look at the standings and see 2-8 beside our team
I can think of 3 of those losses we should have had wins
Yup
A lot of those mental mistakes are killing us.
I hate having a two or three run lead only to see us squander it late into the ball game. It’s absolutely garbage.
Let’s hope Frank’s back to being the Bug Hurt again.
