We're going to knock balls out of the country's park, for the home team, which is America. @('.')@

If Blanton ever wins the Cy Young

that is totally where we should throw him the party, BTW. Good call.

ugh, in boston too

There's no crying in baseball!

by gigglingone on May 19, 2008 6:30 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Wow, these boston announcers are horrible.

I think if they weren’t up in the booth they’d actually be out on the field cupping the Sox players’ balls for them.

by mikev on May 19, 2008 6:34 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

As much as I hate the Sox..

I like their announcers.

When will then be now? Soon.

by Syphon on May 19, 2008 6:34 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Ditto...

as long as they aren’t playing the A’s.

by Jennifer on May 19, 2008 6:36 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Still counts as one game.. lol

by Syphon on May 19, 2008 6:36 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

i wish sox fans knew that

it will be the only game that the half-wit bandwagon sox fans around me know about… since they don’t actually watch the team… they’ll just talk about this for a month

by schmifty on May 19, 2008 6:38 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

please please please

for the love of all things holy, please don’t let this happen, i live 45 min outside boston and the local yokels will be INSUFFERABLE tomorrow if this happens…

by schmifty on May 19, 2008 6:34 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Its gonna happen :(

by Syphon on May 19, 2008 6:35 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Just remind them of 18-1

hopefully that would shut them up

Its a great Story for Lester..

Beats cancer now throw a no hitter. This goes beyond baseball.

I was super tired this morning and I got out of bed, went to work, and spent the whole day checking my email and surfing the web. Where’s my medal?

the good news is...

our clean-up hitter has a higher batting average than the Rays’ does.

So we are on CSN+ because of the Gnats?

Can we just bomb Colorado and make done with it?

Thank goodness. I don't have to listen to the Tampa announcers.

They suck worse than Jon Lester’s no-hitter.

A guy at my workplace always brags about Matsuzaka's w/l record.

Hope he doesn’t see Joe’s 2-6 record or he’ll start telling me how much he sucks.

Everytime a team wins a WS you are sure to find plenty of fans

for that particular team who ALWAYS liked them even in their down years. NEW Sox fans are the worst.

absolutely

i can’t complain about sox fans who actually are lifelong fans; they are very rare though, and the bandwagoners make me want to throw myself out a window

by schmifty on May 19, 2008 7:11 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Take this piece of advice- throw THEM out of the window.

Spare yourself.

Colleges

I blame all the Boston-area colleges for constantly creating new SUX fans. People got to school there for four years, suddenly “discover” baseball, and think the SUX invented it.

I've come to the conclusion that the two most important things in life are good friends and a good bullpen.

by 149 on May 19, 2008 7:12 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

When I sat in the bleachers a couple of times

at Fenway in the 80’s, they mostly seemed to be (re)discovering beer.

"And Julio Franco is batting right-handed!" -- Wayne Hagin, A's radio play-by-play, mid-80s

Hey!

I met another A’s fan in the city I work in! Finally!

by Jennifer on May 19, 2008 7:11 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

My gf thinks I'm nuts because I get so excited when I see someone in A's gear.

This guy lost something out of his jeep and I noticed that he had a BP hat. I had to stop and offer help… and he had an A’s plate too. I almost wanted to ask for his phone # but didn’t want to scare him.

This guy worked at the dealership where I

was having my car “worked” on. I was so excited I didn’t get to grill him on any fun stuff.
