Bottom of the 5th, Rangers up 3-2 on the strength of a huge game by a pissed-off Milton Bradly!

that would be a horrible trade

Young is not any good and he has a huge contract.

The A's colors are green and gold.

I think Young is a great player.

Imagine how much better he would look playing behind a real pitching staff. Crosby isn’t going to get any better. Young may not either, but at least his talent ceiling is much higher than BoCro’s. Harden is unreliable. You could even throw Street into the deal and make Casilla the closer. The point is that the A’s are so deep that they could afford to make a trade like this to get a gritty, solid, all-star type guy to put them over the hump.

Young's not great defensively, but he's a great hitter.

And he can be shifted to 2nd starting next year. Plus, Crosby and Harden are only under contract for one more season after this one and Braden isn’t anything more than a left specialist long term.

.738 career OPS on the road....

So we’d be paying a ton of money for an average 2B for the first few years, and then paying a ton of money for a most likely done 2B after that.

The A's colors are green and gold.

ie, it's not the players we'd be giving up

it’s that Young is an average player with a giant contract.

The A's colors are green and gold.

Damn it Dana!

The guy’s gotta get through this inning without any more damage. We need at least 5 innings out of him.

ALL RIGHT.

That was one ugly swing on one nasty pitch.

Korach keeps sounding astonished

about how well the [Devil] Rays are playing…I know the A’s don’t play them often, but he needs to pay a little closer attention.

Gotta love it

Joining late

can someone tell me what happened with Millwood? Injured in the first inning?

Anything else I need to know to catch up?

Thanks all.

Glad to see Eveland still in. Three runs in five innings, not great but not terrible.

Go sit behind the Boggs family

and apply for an AFTRA card because you’re on screen so often.

Out of the blue question:

If Ellis leaves next year, do the A’s give Hannahan the first crack at 2B? I know he played there a lot in AAA

92 games at 2B in 6 years

That’s not really that much. Wouldn’t Melillo be better?

EVELAND

Seems like he pays too much attention to baserunners and lets it take him off his game.
